We are mid 60's, fairly active, and enjoy travel. This was our 26th cruise. We selected this ship based on itinerary and price. Also, since we live in Michigan and fly to the ports, we try to book 10 days or longer. We flew into Baltimore the day prior to the cruise and stayed at Spring Hill Suites on Redwood Street. Taxi from BWI to hotel was about $35. It is a very nice hotel, and we had ...

My husband and I have been on a dozen or so cruises over the years, and this sailing out of Baltimore was a bargain, especially since we could drive to the Port. The departure was effortless and we were on-board snacking in the Windjammer Buffet within about 30 minutes of getting dropped off at the port! I had tried to change our cabin a few days before sailing and was informed that it was a full ...

Ease of Baltimore Departure Eases Expectations

We have a one year old daughter and live one hour from Baltimore, thus the idea of taking 5 bags of baby crap by plane to Miami or by trunk to Maryland left us at the Baltimore Cruise Terminal. We've been on several cruises on new and old ships but are not stuck up when it comes to expectations. We knew that we would get lackluster ports (Port Canaveral, Nassau, CocoCay) and an older/smaller ...

Great Winter Escape Cruise

Overall, my husband and I had a very enjoyable time aboard Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas during our nine-night cruise to the eastern Caribbean out of Baltimore, MD. For reference, I'm twenty eight and my husband is thirty. We traveled alone. The majority of cruisers seemed to be older people, though there were an unusual number of families on this cruise because of winter break in the ...

To escape the winter we often take a cruise in the Eastern Caribbean, but this time we wanted to avoid flying to the cruise port. We drove for 6 hours to Baltimore and stayed overnight in a hotel that included parking for the duration of the cruise and a shuttle to and from the port of Baltimore. Unfortunately the hotel assigned us a very early 8 am shuttle to the port, where we had to wait for ...

We left out of Baltimore on the 12 night Eastern Caribbean on the Enchantment. Embarking was a breeze. We got to the port about 11:30 am. We had sailed on Royal Caribbean before so we went to the Gold Memeber line and were walking up the gangway after a 15 minute wait. Had some lunch in the Windjammer and went to our oceanview room on deck 2 around 1pm and our luggage was there. This cruise ...

Cruised on the Enchantment on 1/5. This was our 2nd time on the Enchantment (and probably the last since the ship is being replaced by the Grandeur). Day One - Left home in NJ around 10:30 and arrived at the port around noon and the line to get in the terminal was very long. Apparently, there was an outbreak of Noro on the previous cruise and they were disinfecting the ship. Since we had a ...

First the good stuff. The ship is super, clean, nice decor, smooth sailing, loved the solarium, etc. Staff- wonderful!!! Can't think of any negatives. Drinks - good Islands - WOW! Check in - smooth I really like the no-smoking policy in the casino on formal nights. Great idea - now lets make it a few more nights!! Now the bad stuff. I don't want to come across as nit-picky BUT it ...

Just got back from a 9 night cruise and thought I would comment on the changes to the Enchantment.:- The new Centrum bar is lovely. The bar staff have "special" uniforms to distinguish them from the rest of the bartenders and they sell an up-market set of drinks there - so many house choices and mixed drinks are not available and of course the choices are more expensive! They had a professional ...
