We just got off the Icon of the Seas after it's 6th sailing. The ship is beautiful. Has so many wonderful things- but some negatives. Boarding was fast and easy- well organized- we entered Deck five- the promenade- it is spacious filled with many features of the Oasis class- but much wider and brighter- the Pearl is a beautiful structure on that level . This was my first experience cruising (45-year-old female) and I would recommend! I had a single person cabin with a balcony on the sixth floor. My room was very nice and I love they had an affordable balcony option for a solo traveler. I really enjoyed dinner each night in the main room. We love the entertainment on most of the Oasis-class ships, but the shows on the Symphony of the Seas were absolutely spectacular and amazing--by far the best we've seen. The staff were always kind and helpful. The ship was VERY clean and safe. My main complaint is that 85% of the seats in the English pub POKE YOU on both sides when you try to sit in them. I commented on this to fellow attendees and they all moaned about the discomfort of that pub's chairs. The obvious is "Don't sit there!" We were on symphony 4 years ago and booked as soon as Wonder became available. We really enjoyed Symphony, so figured we would enjoy the “improved” version. For the most part we really did. My #1 criticism about this ship was the elevators...so really, that's a pretty good thing. That said, I don't recall a ship with consistently longer wait times than this one.
