What’s Happened to the Royal Caribbean Brand?

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

On boarding the ship my wife and I were shocked to find our cabin would only be serviced once a day. This was not a cheap cruise particularly when paying in Aussie $. Royal Caribbean left this to the cabin steward to try and explain. Very poor effort on behalf of the management team to leave this to the cabin attendant. Surely a cabin cleaned twice a day provides a much more healthier environment ...

We have done several family cruises with RCL, and started back in 1996 on Monarch Of the Seas - back when food was sublime, and you were not nickel and dimed for everything. Over the decades, we have cruised with RCL a few times when travelling with family. Our fav has been Oasis. Quantum - Our family all had Junior Suites. The size is good, however - beds are rock hard, and there is very ...

Hard working, lovely crew, but overrated

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

Embarkation in Sydney and ports of call on tenders in Vanuatu was a breeze on this ship. Bravo to the crew, as this sailing was very full. We were in an ocean view cabin on the 7th deck. The cabins are very comfortable, with heaps of storage space. On the first day we were shuffled into the spa and heavily pushed into a treatment, which I booked the 2nd day of the sailing. The spa's prices are ...

Had higher expectations but was disappointed

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

The ship lacks activities, extremely under staffed, you will find a hard time getting a drink almost everywhere in the ship. I cruise with RC all the time and this is by far the worst of their ships. From the poor service, to lack of activities, it’s just a horrible choice. Put in mind i booked a suite, I can’t imagine the lesser cabins are going through. The pool is extremely tiny and ...

MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

This was my 9th Cruise, and 5th with RC. We could have done the same itinerary on the same ship immediately before this sailing for about half the price, but we thought this would be "special" being a Christmas / New Years cruise, so we had high expectations. I asked RC on the phone prior to the cruise if there would be fireworks from the ship on NYE. They said yes which i was so excited about. ...

We chose this cruise so that my daughter and granddaughter could join us. We had separate cabins but next to one another. We were able to have the balcony barrier between the cabins removed which made it like adjoining cabins. Sail-away out of Sydney habour was great and we enjoyed a nice dinner in the solarium bistro as we enjoyed the views. we enjoyed some entertainment then decided to hit ...

REALITY DOES NOT MEET ALL THE HYPE.

Ovation of the seas - was old , tired , uncomfortable and had very very disappointing food on our christmas cruise ---and no one from royal carribbean gives a damn- couldn't care less--don't want to know that their furnishings were threadbare in many of the lounges/bars and public areas --that food in cafe 270 smelt rancid, the bed was almost un-sleep-able, the entertainment was absolutely awful, ...

This was our 5th Royal Caribbean cruise and first on Quantum. We chose ship due to North Star, bumper cars and itinerary etc BUT North Star was broken and inoperative entire cruise and out of the 4 stops we only stopped at 2 due to Cyclone Lola. Cyclone Lola was known to the “sailing/cruise experts” however we were not told until after boarding. North Star not working and bumper cars were open 3-4 ...

Why did we have to get off the ship to get a decent cup of coffee????

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

We have been on many, many cruises. Several with Royal Caribbean. Quantum of the Seas would have to be the worst. Firstly the staff are polite, and well trained, although not seemingly 'as friendly' as they used to be. Perhaps they find Australians a bit difficult? Not sure, because I consider most Aussies to be laid-back. Most of the onboard entertainment during the day, of which there is very ...
