Some great, some good, some terrible...
"Another cruiser tipped us off that they found one of their suitcases at the other end of the hallway from their room, so i went searching..That wouldn't be so bad, except it's only for a few hour chunks at a time, usually starting and ending at very inconvenient times (we couldn't drop our DD off until 2pm - when the headliner shows STARTS at 2pm and you have to get there 30 min in advance to secure decent seats, how the heck is that efficient??..."Read More

We are a senior couple in our late 70s who have mostly cruised Celebrity over the past years. Have also cruised HAL, and earlier Princess, NCL and Carnival. we are Elite Plus on Celebrity. this year we decided to try RCL Anthem of Seas as we could sail from Bayonne NJ and also have a lot of celebrity perks that carry over RCL. Have never been on a boat this large or with so many people . ...

First off - I would like to preface this review with the caveat that we got very unlucky with the weather - which was unseasonably cold in the Bahamas and Florida during the measly 3 days this itinerary had us down south, so that definitely tainted the entire experience a bit. Embarkation - Very smooth. From our arrival inside the terminal to walking onto the ship, 25-30 min at most. Muster ...

This was our 2nd time on the Anthem. First time we really enjoyed ourselves. This time we notice some changes in so far as the cleanliness of the ship. In the past, crew members were constantly cleaning all areas of the ship. This time, we notice things like in the windjammer, we had sat at the same table for lunch as we did for breakfast. How did we know, the same food scraps were still on the ...

IT"S THE LITTLE THINGS...........February 12 aboard the Anthem of the Seas

My husband and I sailed on the Anthem of the Seas on the February 12, 2023 sailing. We have sailed the Anthem before, as well as other Royal ships. This trip just didn't quite live up to the others. POSITIVES: Port check-in was seamless. Our Stateroom Attendant, Harold, was pleasant and did a very nice job keeping our stateroom stocked and cleaned. We absolutely LOVED the Las Vegas ...

To begin with, the cruise director said on Day 1 that the ship had reached a record in guest compliment, over 4700 guests and over 1300 children. You'd expect this to make the ship congested, but for the most part, it wasn't. There was such breadth of concurrent activities, that wherever you go, there's always room. Adventure Ocean and the Seaplex seemed to work miracles in keeping children and ...

I didn't hate it, but I didn't come back feeling relaxed or that I had a fun time. I honestly felt stressed a lot while on the ship. Maybe The Anthem just wasn't the ship for me. It was too big, too many people and poorly laid out IMO. I haven't been on a cruise in a long time and they were mostly on smaller Celebrity ships. Around 2000 or so people. It's probably an unfair comparison. I'm ...

This was my second time on Royal and first with whole family. We were able to afford it because it was out of Bayonne, NJ so no airfare. Embarkation - great - this port was easy to get into - drove right up, dropped off bags, drove maybe 100 yards to secure parking deck that I think is only for those cruising. Was able to walk right to check in early than the planned time. Cabin - had a ...

Many Missed Opportunities Make for a Very Flawed Cruise

I wanted to test the cruise waters post-covid cruising shutdown. The good: RC set up hand washing stations at the entrance to their Windjammer buffet with a staff person directing us to wash our hands in a fun manner; staff enforced the no touch procedures in the Windjammer buffet-offering to serve us immediately; there were many signs posted to urge social distancing; the venues were clean ...

First, let me say I've been a loyal Royal fan for 30 years and am a Diamond member. While I have sailed on other lines as well, Royal has been my number 1 by far. We chose this cruise as a last minute getaway as it was close to home. Embarkation/Debarkation: It’s hard to complain when you leave your house at 11am and are eating lunch onboard at 1pm. Gone are the days of long lines and ...

Cruising the Bahamas? Coco Cay Was Amazing, Blue Lagoon Was NOT!

We'd sailed Princess and Norwegian before, but this was our first Royal cruise. Food The food and service was better on Princess (I still dream of how the most simple dishes like fettucine alfredo were somehow mind-blowing!), but Royal's main dining room food was decent enough we'd sail with them again. The Windjammers Buffet was especially ample and fresh -- and we are not typically ...
