I love this ship. Whilst others don't like the big ships, we found Anthem to be great if you wanted to find a seat! As the decks are all huge, there are lots of little places to sit, most bars are very spacious. I remarked to my wife, where do they hide all the people?
On the way back through the Bay of Biscay (or Biscuits as most people call it), we hit a storm. Because the ship is so big, we ...
Too many restaurants = less space for other amenities. We also missed a mian dining room where you got to know your waitor & he you which created another dimension to the holiday - waitors also complained having the same feeling.
Gym pathetic for 6000 passengers - 6 bicycles!!! Lack of free weights & no spinning classes.
Biggest gripe - ...
We arrived early at 10am and it was starting to get busy already. Parked at the terminal car park which was £49 for the 3 nights and worth the extra £10 instead of using the shuttle bus car park. Luggage was collected from our car and we walked to the Ship which took 5 mins max.
There were staff with iPad's checking people in at the door but we like many others, were just waved through to ...
Do not go on this ship, unless you want to pay a fortune for 'butlins on sea'. The ship was overcrowded with no room on the upper decks . small cabins even though we paid for an upgrade food was the same in each restaurant .the entertainment we booked for was over booked and we couldn't get in . The cruise was a dream works cruise but not a character in sight,as for the ...
First off Anthem was absolutely beautiful, everywhere I looked there was something amazing to see. I didn't particularly enjoy this cruise as much as others, mainly because I didn't think they had enough activities going on. Considering this was a showcase 3 night sampler I thought day entertainment was poor. This could also be due to me knowing what the usual entertainment is.
Did the North ...
What was good:
- We Will Rock You - excellent in all respects, wished I could have seen it twice!
- Joff Eaton's Progressive Quiz - funny man, really enjoyed this quiz.
- The ship was beautiful and the balcony cabin on Deck 8 was very nice, great shower.
- The cabin steward Julian - very friendly, helpful and made great towel animals!
What was okay:
- The service - definitely ...
This was our 4th Royal Caribbean cruise but 1st time on this class. Overall we had a great cruise and would happily book Anthem of the Seas again!

The ship was amazing and finished beautifully. The Solarium was a particular favourite for us, we loved the comfy chairs and the stunning cascading pool. We also liked that Anthem was well-equipped for colder weather - the previous ships ...
We cruised Anthem back in July for our honeymoon on a 14 night European extravaganza. Overall it was a wonderful cruise. I still give an edge to the Oasis class for a variety of reasons (notably the neighborhoods and the open space they bring, live music, and larger entertainment venues), but this is the first ship that is a true rival to that class in my opinion (I know many people like the ...
Just to sample a mega ship, we booked the 3 day sampler cruise for my birthday. Embarkation was simplicity itself, formalities quickly competed , and we were on board by late morning , looking forward to all the well publicised innovative features .
As rooms were not quite ready, we went for lunch in the spacious Windjammer cafe which offered soups and good salad choices ,but ,for a non meat ...
Thought we'd give this a go after a free lunch and tour earlier in year.
Bad bits: -
1. Despite reports, check-in not speedy.
2. Welcome aboard all rather low key and nobody told the new arrivals that the cabins were not available 'til 13.30. Result - people milling about all over the place seemingly mesmerised (more mesmerising to come).
3. Little or no table service. "Vintages" for ...
