The GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY...but we still love Royal Caribbean
"This ended up being a great choice because it was possible to walk from one end of the ship to the other without walking down the room hallways and without needing to get in an elevator first to get to a common area like the promenade, Central Park, or the pool deck.We got the WiFi folks to give each of us one of the devices so we would only knock ourselves offline...."Read More

Disappointing

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Allure of the Seas

We went on this cruise because family members invited us. We didn't like the ship at all. It is very claustrophobic and feels more like being in a shopping mall than on a cruise ship. You can't see out when on the main entertainment decks and bars. The food was awful, tasteless and overcooked. Drink service really slow. This was our 11th cruise on various cruise lines and was definitely the ...

We choose this cruise because we have friends that live in Roatan and have made this trip many times before. We cruised on Harmony of the Seas out of Miami and thought we would enjoy Allure just as much. The ship is beautiful and someone is always cleaning and/or polishing something. The room steward was helpful and always available, but only straightens out the room once a day (which you ...

Diminished Food and Service

Before Covid this was a prime cruise line after Covid I feel they are at the same or worse level than Carnival. Below are the things I found has diminished Considerably. 1) Food this was bland and it was like that during each meal we had. The Buffet breakfast and lunch was the same thing every single day after day after day the dining room food was at times the same thing they had at the buffet ...

What a wonderful cruise

From the time I parked my car until I was onboard took no more than 30 minutes! Most of that time was spent getting from the car to the terminal. This really was the best boarding I have ever experienced (this is our 14th cruise). I must admit that the activity I look forward to the most, is eating. I am happy to report we were not disappointed by anyplace we ate, with the exception of the. ...

My wife and I have cruised Allure twice this past year. Both experiences were good. The service was outstanding both times and there are plenty of things to do onboard. For both cruises we booked a balcony cabin. The only disappointing thing about the cabins were the lack of electrical and USB receptacles. The cabin has one small receptacle with 3 outlets that are very close together. There ...

Traveled with friend and family. Embarkation was a breeze, although I think they can improve a little with the drop off of luggage. We figured it out, but I can see how some could confused. We were on the ship in 15 minutes which was great. The ship overall is nice and well maintained for it's age. It's a little worn here and there. Our ocean view balcony was spacious and our cabin steward ...

My husband and I were frequent, fairly adventurous travelers pre-kids. Of course, vacations drastically change once you have a family. Last year we did Club Med Cancun and it was kind of awful, so we decided to try a cruise this year. We had been on Carnival and Princess before in the before-kids era, but we decided to give Royal Caribbean a try since it seemed pretty family friendly. Traveling ...

We choose this cruise for a couple of reasons. It was our first cruise since covid and some serious health issues. It was sailing out of Galveston so it was a short drive. We would be on board for my wife's 80th birthday, so a great celebration. And, although we have cruised about a dozen times on Royal, we had never been on one of the monster ships. We wanted to give it a shot. First, it ...

Staff is great, the rest was horribly disappointing

First, do NOT get The Key on this ship. It's a total rip-off. There is no "fast lane" access to onboard activities as advertised. You only get one hour of private time on each of The FlowRider, Zipline, Ice Skating, and the Rock Wall. Internet connectivity is spotty - ours kept disconnecting. And the welcome lunch is not worth the overall cost. Next, it's almost impossible to get a ...
