The sheets had holes!
The curtains were stained!
The food gave me food poisoning!
Extremely understaffed!
I asked for a refund on my gratuities and they confirmed on board that I would. I have been on the phone with them for a full hour and all they could say is “Sorry no, we already paid the workers.” This would be an improper charge if they said they would give me a refund but ...
We had a great time on our 7 night Alaska cruise on the Brilliance. This cruise left from Vancouver and went to Sitka, Juneau, Skagway & Haines and Tracy Arms Fiord.
We planned on flying in a couple days earlier but due to my work we flew into Seattle the day before and did some sightseeing and then took the Flixbus to Vancouver to meet ours friends who were joining us on this cruise. Flying ...
I was last aboard Radiance in 2017 for a seven night cruise from Seward to Vancouver. She is aging well and remains a typical, classic cruise ship reminiscent of days gone by in comparison with the newer mega ships with dozens (or so it seems) of water slides which threatens to turn a cruise ship into a floating water-themed amusement park with a few other venues thrown in for good measure. For ...
I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the cruise itself was OK. I say surprised because 2 Royal cruises were on last year were pretty bad. On this cruise food in the MDR was ok, not great but acceptable. A couple of misses but in general OK. I was concerned that they removed the always offered items however we were always able to find something. I even thought the coffee was OK.

This first time experience was phenomenal. My family and I dined in the Minstrel Dining Room and Windjammer Buffet and the food did not disappoint. Special thanks to our waiters Jose and Pawan for entertaining us even while serving, and for not making it dull. The “washy washy” lady as well, and the Romanian head waiter. Mahdi, for showing support and care for us even though we’re only strangers. ...
The overall cruise experience was very good, the staff was fantastic, the food very good. The ship is older but well maintained. This was our second cruise to Alaska with Royal Caribbean. Our last cruise was on Quantum. We had beautiful weather most days and we booked the excursions outside of the cruise. In Sitka Captain Gary’s experience was exceptional. We saw lots of Orcas with Juneau Whale ...
Always wanted to visit Hawaii, but waited too long. Should have gone when we could have enjoyed a more active experience on land. The cruise was a compromise, as we love cruising, and we could at least have a short land visit on several islands. Really, really wish there had been more island time in the itinerary.
The cruise itself got off on a terrible foot, with the worst-run embarkation we ...
I have been cruising every year since 2010, as my mother and I share a birthday, we like to celebrate with a trip, making this my 12th cruise (took 2 yrs off for Covid) and other then the first 3 (which were with Carnival) I have been a die-hard Royal Caribbean loyalist. I tell EVERYONE that although more expensive, they have better food and more comfortable beds. However that all changed 2 weeks ...
We had an excellent trip on Brilliance of the Seas. It was the first trip of the season up to Alaska so shops in the ports were just opening up or would be by Mid May. Big bonus - there weren’t any crowds!! We had the ports to ourselves. In Sitka, after the free bus shuttle into the town Centre, you can easily walk to the Raptor Centre, National forest and Russian Bishops House - all well worth ...
This was our careful return to cruising after a 3-year pandemic hiatus. While both fully vaccinated, we were determined to exercise prudence and avoid crowds. We used Westjet credits from cancelled flights and traveled from Toronto to Vancouver, with pre-cruise stay at the Exchange hotel, 3 blocks from the terminal. We were very satisfied with this property. Dinner was at the Cactus Club Café ...
