This was my 17th trip with RC, 3rd to Alaska, 1st on Ovation. Embarkation was fast, being able to board at 11:00. Rooms weren't available until 1:00, which is pretty standard.

Ship was super clean and was a perfect fit for Alaska. With all the indoor activities, there is little need to be outside. First off to all the readers out there...take the "one" star reviews with a grain of salt! This ship is wonderful and is one of the best ships you can take from Royal Caribbean. YES....This cruise should be on everyone's bucket list. Whether a suite or just a balcony it's a must the views are breathtaking.
Dining_ The Wait staff in the my time dining which we did for the 1st time was so attentive .
The choice of meals were for all tastes. Portions were were good

I had done an Alaska cruise on this same ship a couple of years ago with friends, but this time it was with my mom and SO.
TL/DR:
* Suites are sweet and you should do it at least once in your life
* Royal Caribbean is awesome onboard for special needs, like food allergies and limited mobility

We had been on Explorer twice before, both cruises out of Cape Liberty. This was to be our first Pacific cruise. Never having been to Seattle we arrived 3 days early. We toured the city and took in a Mariners game. We made the Hampton Inn on 5th avenue our base of operations. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was included each morning. This cruise was a close cruise for a Western Washington resident. Not too many cruises (3) but like the experience. Overall the pacific coastal cruise was lovely and at a good price.
First things that could be improved.
Avoid cabin 9221 as the ceiling was squeaky. Maintence twice tried to fix, but couldn't locate source of problem. We stuffed towels between the ceiling and the in room desk/vanity. Didn't fix the issue but helped a bit. When in rough seas you will hear loud intermittent squaks from the ...
