Summer Wonderland

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We reserved this cruise because we wanted to see Alaska, as well as the diverse life that Alaska and its surrounding waters has to offer. We were not disappointed. We booked a cruise tour, which was comprised of a 7 day cruise followed by a six day land tour. Embarkation in Vancouver was a confusing mess. It took us awhile to get through, made worse by having to pass through US customs before ...

In 2015, we spent the entire summer touring the interior of Alaska in our motor home and vowed to come back on a cruise to enjoy the seaboard side. Thus the booking of this southbound cruise starting in Seward on June 9-16, 2017. Although the weather was cloudy and rainy most of the time, we still got to see most of the beautiful scenery and enjoy a wonderful time on the Radiance of the Seas. ...

We thoroughly enjoyed our time onboard Radiance of the Seas. The ship was clean, well kept, had excellent staff, excellent entertainment, and a wonderful itinerary. All of the public areas on the ship were very well maintained. We spent a lot of time in the Schooner Bar and Colony Club because that's where most of the activities we participated in were located. I think my only complaint would ...

Ship was quite nice. Enjoyed the lobby. Loved the Solarium. Elevators gave a nice view of the ship. Embarking was easy. Disembarking was easy. Little bit of a hoop to jump through with luggage getting dropped off at a different location from where the train drops you off. Had 1 interior and 1 ocean view cabin. Loved the bunk beds for the kids. Glad to have a view when chilling before ...

By far the worst cruise in our 'diamond' experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

We only had a few days of holidays left and decided to take a short (1 week) cruise to Alaska. We've cruised on the Explorer before (24 night repositioning cruise from Sydney to Seattle), and have enjoyed it. Unfortunately, within the last year the services seem to have gone downhill and combined with our unfortunate choice of a stateroom, the whole experience was rather disappointing. Since ...

Good Cruise, Nice Ship

I chose this cruise because I got a really good buy online. It was booked a year ago for $639 for an inside cabin with a $50 cabin voucher. A nice ship. The colors in the Centum (the lobby if you will) worked very well. I have a couple of small complaints: Signage not very good. Coming off an elevator at our floor still taking the wrong corridor to our cabin after a week. The food was ...

We sailed Northbound out of Vancouver, BC on Radiance on June 2nd with stops in Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Skagway, and a sea day that included the Hubbard Glacier. We also took a cruisetour (1A) post cruise, which I'll review a bit later. Pre-cruise in Vancover: We chose to fly into Seattle from Boston, rent a car and drive to Vancouver. It was a lovely drive. We spent a day ...

Good Ship, Food Could Be Better

We chose this ship based on the Ports of Call and sail dates as we were coordinating the cruise with a conference in Anchorage. Overall, the ship design and lay-out was very good. The recent refurbishment made the ship look new. We enjoyed the on-board entertainment. Steve is a great cruise director. I downgraded the overall rating for the disappointing food. Unfortunately, it was the ...

Disappointed in RC did not live up to it's reputation and our past cruise!

We chose Royal Caribbean as we have sailed to the Caribbean in the past with them. I don't even know where to begin. First getting on the ship was just mass confusion. We arrived at the time stated for our deck and waited in line 2.5 hours, and of course one of our bags didn't make it to our room as the paper tag they stapled on was ripped of when the loaded our bags. We had to wait until 8 pm ...

We had a party of 8 and we had a blast. We stayed two nights in Vancouver It was great. Boarding was little rough but not bad. The sail away was was just great as the sun finally came out after two days of on and off showers. We had the best staff. The MDR started slow but was running on all cylinders by the second night. Rex was awsome room steward. Had everything that we need and ...
