Third world company disguised as flagship cruise company

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We booked this cruise about 8 months before the sailing through a third party travel agency in our country (we are from Mexico) and we were told by the agent that Royal had this program called Best Price Guarantee that basically guaranteed some kind of refund if you found the trip at a lower price after you booked. A few months after prices started to go down a lot, almost half of what we paid ...

Great Ship, Poorly Executed

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We had an amazing time on the ship and in Alaska, but Royal was more in the way of making that happen then helping make it happen. This is an amazing ship with great potential, but Royal vastly understaffed it. I understand it’s hard to find employees right now, but they should have scaled back the passengers if that was the case. There were incredible long waits for food everywhere because on ...

COVID segregation ruined it for kids and families

Pros: *Very kind staff - easily see everyone smiling behind their masks *Adventure Ocean open for kids and provided fun times *Bands and comedy - amazing and very entertaining - Phil Tag is a fave for sure. *ship not crowded! For once no wait on the elevators and getting around Cons (we knew this was an older demographic cruise and thought less party but still ...

I cannot believe that Royal C requires an excursion to leave the ship!

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

Everything was great in terms of service, food, fun on the ship. However, Royal C requires a purchased excursion in order to get off the ship. This is infringing my freedom to tour without joining a group, and it has nothing to do with covid regulation. Service and Food was great just like other cruises, but the fact that we were not allowed to dock when the ship docks REALLY IS a false ...

Lower your expectations before sailing to Alaska on Ovation

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

So far consider this one of the WORST cruises we have ever been on (out of 27) and to be honest, that includes our Carnival cruise from hell back in 1998. This one is worse because I had such high expectations for it. One thing after another have turned this into the cruise from hell. The worst part for me is that I am constantly disappointing my kids and grandkids. So many things we had planned ...

Disappointed In Ovation

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We chose this ship for the destination and because our group of 13 had 3 children who we thought would enjoy the variety of activities. I was disappointed in the Ovation and will not likely use RCI again. This was our second cruise and if it had been our first, it likely would have been our last. Embarkation was a mess to put it bluntly, just throngs of people milling around with no clear ...

Loved Alaska, but not Royal Caribbean

Cheap, cheap, cheap! If you want even bottled water, pay up! You can buy different drink packages ranging from about $12-$70/day per person. If you don't, you can have water, tea, lemonade, or coffee. When disembarking on land excursions, there was a cruise employee offering bottles of water......but only if you paid extra for that package. When we were viewing Hubbard Glacier from the stern of ...

DAWES GLACIER CANCELLED!!! NO GLACIER WHATSOEVER ON ALASKA CRUISE!!?!!

We choose RC Ovation to experience the highly touted Alaska glacier cruise highlights, especially glacier calving touted as spectacular due to global warming. H/E all we got was a ROYAL disappointment. THEY CANCELLED THE DAWES GLACIER HIGHLIGHT WITHOUT SUBSTITUTING ANYTHING SIMILAR OR OFFERING ANY COMPENSATION FOR THIS HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! "SO, YOU WENT ON ALASKA CRUISE AND DIDN'T SEE A ...

Worst cruise ever

This was the first and last cruise I will do with Royal Caribbean. On formal nights very few dressed up mostly people just dressed in jeans and hoodies, one person looked like she had just come from the gym in her workout clothes. We did My Dining, big mistake. I have done a similar dining on other cruise lines and it was a lot better than this ship. My advise do not do My Dining go for the set ...

Excuse after excuse

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

User Avatar

From the time ROyal Caribbean changed the itinerary conveniently 59 days before sailing, to the chaos created in baggage claim at disembarking, the most common words from ships staff was “We apologize”. The ship board staff constantly had to make excuses and apologize for numerous situations they had difficulty dealing with. AVOID this ship......while the ship itself is marvelous and a great ...
