Review for a Alaska Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

I'm from Florida so this review is titled "Fun in the Florida Sun" but it is a review of an Alaska cruise. We embarked in Vancouver and the embarkation process was quite fast and easy, be at the Ballentine docks by 12:30 and you should be on board by 1:30. Before we boarded we were surprisingly bombarded with hand sanitizer stations monitored by ships staff vigilantly watching to make sure that ...

Alaska a dream cruise?

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We have 22 cruises under our belt. Twelve have been with Royal Caribbean. Therefore, it would easily assumed that we have a good understanding of what is expected when one is on a cruising vacation. We have yet to tire with this venue and we have included a variety of other types of vacations during this run on cruising. Overall, we believe this type of vacation, cruising, best meets our needs. ...

Good but Not Great

This was my second cruise, but it was a first for my wife. She was most concerned about being seasick, but it turned out that she was not affected at all. Not having sailed with any other cruise line beside RCL, I will not be able to make any comparison, but here's how our experience went: 1. Embarkation: we arrived at Ballantyne pier just before noon and got on the ship with a minimum of fuss. ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

BACKGROUND INFORMATION I am a 34 year old who has taken 10 cruises in my life. I traveled with my husband on this cruise and this was our first trip to Alaska. His family was having a family reunion on board and we were invited to come along. We did not choose this itinerary or ship and as a result, we found it to be a very poor fit for us. While my review may seem overly critical, we still had ...

Arrived in Seattle 2 days ahead of sail. Stayed at the Edgewater in the "penthouse". This is the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. Did the Seattle shopping and dining experience and caught a Mariners/Red Sox game. Arrived at pier 30 and luggage and embark went flawless. Has booked the Owners Suite 8502 and the room was well appointed and huge. Bed was a tad hard and the wife had trouble ...

Exploring Alaska on the Radiance

This was our second cruise to Alaska on the Radiance and our fourteenth cruise with Royal Caribbean overall. Radiance has been our favorite ship for years, ranking higher than the popular Voyager class ships that we have sailed on. We went into this cruise with very high expectations. On some fronts, the cruise exceeded our expectations while on others, left us disappointed. We arrived at the ...

Vision of the Seas - Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Vision of the Seas

This was our 20th cruise - the second time to Alaska - so we are experienced cruisers. The Vision is a nice ship, though lacking some of the pizzazz of newer vessels. Our cabin was outside on the second deck, and showed some wear and tear. However, the lovely bed linens and attentive cabin steward made up for any deficiencies. Embarkation went smoothly, and lunch was available in the Windjammer. ...

Our room was not as clean as I would have liked it. There was mold growing in the shower area. The food was not that great and it always seemed like they were trying to sell me something. That got old after the 2nd day Staff was friendly but the language barrier was hard to navigate. Several times we tried to get some information but were not successful. Just no way to communicate. My SeaPass ...

Serenade of the Seas - Alaska

First let me start by saying that we booked our cruise 6 weeks before sailing through a large travel service. We decided to take an Alaska cruise because some of our friends had taken it before and said it was beautiful and amazing; however, we did not choose Royal Caribbean as our first choice and would have taken Holland or Celebrity if it would have been available. This was our second cruise; ...

We just returned from our long-awaited cruise to Alaska. Although we consider the overall trip excellent our experience on the Vision of the Seas was not too great. Embarkation was actually very smooth even though we arrived right at 1 pm the suggested embarkation time. We were on the ship in minutes with no glitches. We had completed the Set Sail forms on line. Windjammer The breakfast was ...
