7 day Spain and France Cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

It is 9 years since we were last on a RC cruise and fair to say there was a very noticeable difference in the overall quality of the offering - and unfortunately not all was for the better. The ship itself is very impressive but a number of areas were simply too small to cope with the demands of the 3,700 passengers - most notably the Schooner bar and the coffee shop on the Royal Promenade where ...

Our worst cruise ever

Boarded the adventure of the seas with some trepidation as we had had issues with RC before, check in was ok and just a short wait to get into our outside stateroom, luggage arrived in good time, ok good start i thought, then downhill, cabin steward just managed a grunt each day despite trying to have a conversation with him, nothing, other stewards were fine, next was a quick meal in the ...

Worst Cruise Ever?

This is possibly the worst cruise I have ever sailed on. As a Royal Caribbean Diamond member I have been on quite a few cruises and reviewed every one of them. This one was the pits. Just as a reference, I travel alone and booked a medium suite (GS grade). The boarding went smoothly enough and there were no queues (I arrived at 1.00pm.) Issued with my charge card I made my way up to the ...

Cabin 3254 & Channel cruise

Had a good break with a 4 night cruise visiting Brugge & Paris ( Le Havre) . We were allocated cabin 3254 and were a little concerned that it would be noisy as the deck plan showed the nightclub nearby. In reality the cabin was great and no noise problems were found . It is also very convenient to pop up 2 decks to the promenade deck to grab a quick morning tea/ coffee from the café before going ...

Embarkation at Southampton took about 40 minutes. I think we arrived at peak time about noon, so could have avoided queues if slightly earlier or later. It was generally stress-free and we were on the ship fairly quickly - then: the first surprise. There was a huge line to get into the Windjammer for lunch, followed by crowds of people inside searching for tables. Not a relaxing start to our ...

11 months have passed and I still get nightmares. If you like Butlins you'll LOVE Adventure of the Seas. 4000 crammed on board - great if you like queuing for food! A really classy experience - some of the finest tattoos seen on a cruise ship anywhere! The main restaurant was okayish for dinner, but the food was of extremely poor standard. Dishes were given fancy names but this didn't disguise ...

We're experienced cruisers on the higher end (Crystal, Seabourn, SilverSeas) lines, this was our first trip on a mega-ship. It was the middle leg of a three ship trip including Crystal Symphony New York to Reykjavik, this ship Reykjavik to Southampton, and Cunard Queen Mary 2 Southampton back to New York. We knew it would be unfair to go directly from Crystal Symphony to this ship, and we prepped ...

Very mixed experience, ship felt very overcrowded and we had to queue for everything. Waited for 20 minutes to be served at the Ben and Jerry's/ Starbucks counter and then gave up waiting. Found it difficult to find tables and seats in the Windjammer restaurant and in bars and other seating areas. Evening meal table was in a very poor location, tucked in a corner with the only view into the ...

France and Spain Coastal - - nice and different set of ports

The four port fairly short cruise hits interesting spots in northern Spain and western France . . . especially interesting is the Normandy visit. My wife and I have cruised over 70 times, mostly in Europe. Not a fan of Royal Caribbeans promenade design as it brings everyone to a central place and results in crowding. It is almost impossible to get a cup of coffee after a show in rhe one and only ...

Royal Caribbean never again!

We had a disappointing experience on the Adventure of the Seas. We thought the ship was tired, smelly and not very clean, as did other passengers. We have cruised many times but this was the first and last time with Royal Caribbean. It was very overcrowded with not much seating in any of the public spaces. Windjammer restaurant almost impossible to get a seat. Night time diningroom staff were ...
