We had a great cabin - aft, veranda - that we loved. No diesel, smoke/ash and little noise from Lido above. Great views, tiny sitting area.
We chose to take meclizine, starting the night before our cruise. This was the most sea we've seen on any cruise (still topped out at 2+ meters - 7-8 foot swells) and were both fine. I had anxiety but no actual motion sickness. There was an outbreak of ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary, especially Iceland and Greenland and because we have had 3 very good cruises with HAL in the past. There were many good features. Most of the ship has been beautifully refurbished, the food was good, staff very helpful and it seems a happy ship. Great itinerary, Iceland was brilliant, sunny and fantastic scenery. The sun really does shine at midnight in the ...
We were on this boat and the main reasons were to visit greenland and island. At first the good: the food we compare with celebrity and princess, hal is a little bit better. The speciality restaurants are not much better. The service in the pinnacle grill is arrogant and the maitre too and not friendly. The food was OK , there is the murano celebrity much better. Very good was the fitness trainer ...
This was a 35 days cruise and sure enough I got Covid after about day 25. It was well handled, but what surprised me was that there were no announcements each day at noon as to how many people were in quarantine. It was a big secret. Without transparency on this, it makes you reluctant to travel again.
I also got a fungal infection on my toe, which makes me wonder about the hygiene standards ...
Setting off for New York from Rotterdam on the new Rotterdam ship was exciting as we were accompanied by other boats and ferries and ships horns. But I don’t think this happens on every cruise. There were several passengers with Covid who had disembarked from the previous cruise, which meant that boarding had been delayed due to an extensive cleaning on arrival in Rotterdam. Assigned boarding was ...
We had the most beautiful sail away from Rotterdam Netherlands. Absolutely fantastic and one of my top ones! We had a beautiful balcony cabin on Navigation deck for the views. The ship is absolutely beautiful and the right size for us. We really enjoyed the food in MDR. Cocktails in most bars were again top notch except for Oceanview Bar which were many times hit or miss. We went to Pinnacle Grill ...
Choose this cruise for its itinerary. Ireland / Iceland / Greenland, wow.
All cruises have their plus and minuses.
Major plus was the limited passengers (under 1700), and the route.
Minuses was the disappointment in the food.
Signature suite 6055 was nice and roomy.
Entertainment good, services great (go find David in the Oceans Bar for the 4-5pm happy hour, he has great ...
Ten years ago, 2009, my very first longer cruise was the HAL Voyage of the Vikings. It was 35 days RT from Boston on the Maasdam. It was exciting, and being from Florida, a real delight to escape the heat and see the North Atlantic. So when I wanted to go back and do it again, I found that this cruise had become one of HAL's favorite and pricest itineraries, too rich for my travel budget. ...
As always, this review will try to focus on the little things that might be missed, along with the details that may be overlooked in a broader review. This is especially true for the independent travelers who may wander off and do things on their own in each location.
Rotterdam Pre -cruise/ Embarkation: We flew into Amsterdam and took the train to Rotterdam. Sine there were four of us, I took ...
Don't listen to all the people who complained. It's a brand new ship that was inaugurated only in May 2016, it looks new,it smells new and it is new!
Very good, excellent service, food was beyond expectations.
Family room was a little bit crowdy but you don't feel it since the whole day you're out.
Plan your shore excursions yourself, otherwise you will have to pay a lot of money. For ...
