Large Ocean-View Stateroom (D) Cabin Reviews

Good size cabin with excellent closet space. Bathroom good size. Windows were filthy and not worth the extra money if you cant see through them.

Small Ship : Cabin Main Deck
The cabin was ok but disappointed with the window. Water and mineral stains prevented a good view. Cabin stewards scratched up the bathtub floor during our stay, not sure how but they need better training.

On Lower Promenade but without lanai doors to deck - proved to be an excellent choice as we could access the deck in seconds and the weather wasn't the best for sitting out most of the time anyway. Cabin itself was smallish but spotless, bathroom looked to have had a recent upgrade as all fittings were very modern and we had no problems with plumbing. Shower power is fantastic! (Friends on other decks reported ongoing issues with toilets and a lack of hot water for the duration of the cruise - not us!) Lots of storage space, only criticism was the TV which was very difficult to hear. Very easy to access the elevators, deck, no noise and being midships not much ship movement even in some interesting seas. Read Less

Awful boat! : Cabin 1900

The carpet in our cabin was wet and spreading upon arrival. When we complained, the staff simply place towels on top of the wet carpet - I guess this was their way of fixing it. Window were small, rusty and dirty. Considering the cruise options we have these days - Holland America seemed unconcerned and is overpriced. Plus they nickel and dime you throughout the cruise! The cabin was very dirty. Carpets faded and stained. There was blood in the shower / bathtub from the previous guests. The cabin walls filthy: Dirty marks and soda stains (hopefully) dried on the walls. Our stewards were not great, they used an ice bucket to hold the toilet brush in the caddy, made me wonder if that same ice bucket gets circulated into the rooms. Gross. The tv had 3 channels that worked and the other 3 were in and out with static and lines thru the feed. There’s only one plug outlet in the entire cabin, one standard plug. Also and one standard European outlet for the hairdryer and two usb outlets. No iron or steamer on the ship (on in cabin) The phones have a paper directory attached to the phone of how to call out, but they don’t work. You have to refer to the guide for the right way to call out for things like room service or guest services. Why not just update the paper attached to the phone?? Lol - Toilets clogged and overflowed / backed up DAILY. In our time there (7 days) we had the steward fix the toilet daily, the plumber fix the toilet 3 times and also visited by the locksmith when our locks stopped working. Our overhead speaker was not working for announcements, however it worked for the sirens and mock drills at 9 am. That was very annoying. Read Less

Very enjoyable trip : Cabin 1926
Lots of room for 3 people and lots of closet and storage space. Bathroom had plenty of room also. TV was small, but we never watched it anyway.
