Holland America Line Zuiderdam Cruise Reviews for Senior to the Mediterranean from Rome (Civitavecchia)

This is our 15th cruise, and second on HAL. Holland America's service is outstanding as is the food. Yes, the Zuiderdam is an older ship, but, a well maintained and clean vessel. This ship is for the older crowd, as it doesn't have climbing walls or ice skating rings. We found the ship, although dates, clean and well kept. Our stateroom was small but functional. The bed was comfortable and there was adequate storage. The balcony furniture left a lot to be desired but we were still able to enjoy great views. This was our first HAL cruise and we had a great time. Our cabin with verandah was very nice, the bed was very good. we didn't have any post drydock issues! Our stewards were friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our cruise from Rome to Barcelona. It was our second time on the Zuiderdam in the last two years with the one before doing the Panama Canal. Our first cruise with Holland America and we were very satisfied. This was the first cruise after dry dock so every one was given $200 OBC (pp) to start with.
