We chose this cruise because of the intimacy of the ship. We might have sacrificed all of the bells and whistle of a larger ship, but being on a smaller ship was well worth it. Embarkation was done in a very smooth and orderly fashion and we were in our cabin within 15 minutes of boarding the ship. After ready some of the previous reviews, I was nervous about the age of the ship and it's ...
Choose the Star Pride predominately for the race and then the wonderful different ports of call. Food was some of the best cruise food ever and the staff were wonderful. The rooms are a good size, but don't bother with the balcony upgrade. The size of the ship makes it easy to get around without needing a map. If you get the opportunity check out the bridge when it is open as the crew is very ...
I chose this cruise because of their advertising that said they were a luxury cruise line. This is completely false. While the ports their smaller ship was able to visit were magnificent, for the most part, we found the majority of the staff to be pompous and arragont, the spa services to be far below standards, and the food to be nothing better than a mediocre restaurant buffet. We received a ...
We spent really good money on this cruise and were sold from the sleek brochures on the Star Pride. It was hailed as "the newest addition" when it is anything but that. It's an old ship that they pulled from the shipyard and then photo-shopped their pics to put in their brochure. Save your money and go on a real luxury and sleek cruise. This is a bad bill of goods!
We did the Istanbul to ...
We weren't sure we would really like a cruise holiday and chose Windstar because we liked the idea of a smaller ship that was more casual and geared to a younger more active clientele. The itinerary which included mainly stops in Croatia was another thing that appealed to us.
The yacht is beautiful and well kept and the cabins are a lot larger than we expected.
The entire crew were ...
First, in an effort of full disclosure I must admit that this is the 6th Windstar cruise that my family has taken and up to now they have been wonderful . ( We have also done 5 or 6 cruises on other small ship lines). Thus, I write this review from experience. In the past we have always cruised on the Windstar masted sailing vessels. This is the first trip on the power “yacht” style, Star ...
My husband and I were very excited to take our first cruise. We were told the Windstar Star Pride was a new ship and that idea was only furthered by Windstar’s promotions.
We did not expect to walk onto the Star Pride and immediately notice from the furnishings and smell that it was NOT new in any way. I remember saying to my husband, “ I think this is a huge mistake.” Apparently the ship ...
We have always loved cruising with Windstar, and so we were excited to go on the new Star Pride yacht which was purchased from Seabourne. The ship was supposed to be refurbished and was advertised as "new" when we booked it.
This cruise, from Rome to Rome, included wonderful ports and the excitement of visiting Cannes during the Cannes Film Festival as well as Monaco for the Grand Prix. However, ...
This was a voyage we were so looking forward to. The only reason we sailed with Windstar was to enjoy the Grand Prix Formula 1. Well, what a disappointment.
Since most of the ports were tender ports, one would expect Star Pride to provide a better tender service. They are small, unstable and definitely unsafe. The sea , most of the time, was very rough Disembarking and embarking the tenders was a ...
