We have been on 20 cruises over the past many years and decided it was time to try sailing on a small ship. Star Legend holds 212 passengers and on our sailing there were 194, so almost full. We met many lovely passengers and the crew were the best we've ever had. As others have said, some of them know your name within a day or two. Our favourite crew members were Tristan and Dwi (yes that's ...

We chose this cruise for the Sicilian Splendors itinerary which also included Sorrento and Capri. We left several days early to stay in Positano and explore the Amalfi Coast prior to the cruise, then ended up with a day in Rome before returning home. We had a less than ideal experience on the Legend last year as one of the first few journeys with Windstar, and are happy to report a 180 degree ...

This is our first sailing on Windstar Cruises - we chose the Star Legen - a 212 passenger vessel previously owned by Seabourne - the renovations are great - all staterooms are oceanview large suites - a few with balconies. These are not typical balconies - the door slides open and lead to a French Balcoony - we loved it - you are seated on comfortable chairs and a sofa - (not plastic or ...

This is our 5th Windstar cruise, having previously cruised on the Windsurf several times, as well as the Windspirit (we also do cruises on larger ships as well). This means we are Windstar supporters, but it also means we know what the product should look like. From what I've read from some of the previous reviews...not sure we were on the same ship! Embarkation: We took the train from Rome ...

My husband and I traveled to Rome from California, we had arranged transportation to the Hotel Golden and found ourselves greeted by the Loria family which we found to be a true delight and a place we hope to return to some day. We highly recommend this small quaint family owned and run hotel. Great location and an excellent, scrumptious home cooked breakfast each morning. We arrived at the ...

I believe that an objective and unemotional review is critical for the reader (YOU) in gaining the most information possible in both the positive and negative aspects of any review for a cruise line, hotel or resort. I so hope this review will assist or guide you in your decision about a Windstar cruise or act as a tool in your decision in comparing it to equal or similar lines (Azamara, Oceania ...

Not a Luxury Cruise

Firstly Windstars site does not work properly so had to phone to book excursions we wanted to do. Toll call to America listening to what a wonderful stress free cruise etc we were going to experience. Wines are very disappointing about American supermarket quality. No decent Italian wines. The food except for the BBQ night was pretty poor to average. (have had better food and wine staying at ...

Disappointed

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Star Legend

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

Our first cruise and the most expensive per day we have had. Traveled extensively to South America, UK, Europe, Australia, the Pacific Islands and Madagascar. The "balcony" cabin we had was clean and well serviced with the exception of toiletries which we had to from time to time ask for. The en-suite was a bit tired and could use a face-lift. My gripe with the cabin is that is a joke to call ...
