Overall A Great Cruise

This was our first RCI cruise (9 previous cruises on Princess, Celebrity and Cunard) and were were mostly pleased with the experience. The staff were great and friendly and the ship (Serenade of the Seas) was absolutely lovely and every easy to navigate. We loved the ship, enjoyed our itinerary (Greek Isles), thought the public areas were beautiful and we had a great cruise. A few pluses: Food ...

First time on Royal for me. Found myself comparing to other cruise lines. Check in was a breeze, in our rooms by 1 PM. Food good but one in our group has Celiac disease and her choices were limited. Disappointed in the hours of the buffet, closes early. Brought our one bottle of "allowed" wine on board but no wine glasses in cabin. Had to go ask for them each day from a bar. Friendly staff. Good ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

This was an experienced crew who worked well together and knew the itinerary. All our experiences onboard were much more than satisfactory. Because the cruise was so port-intensive, we didn't have the energy to take in much entertainment or enjoy activities onboard. What we need was excellent service, good food, and a comfortable refuge after walking many thousands of steps each day ashore. This ...

Hi, I traveled with 2 other ladies and we very much enjoyed our cruise on Serenade of the Seas in October of 2014. We arranged our own transfer to Civitavecchia from Rome, and arrived early for boarding. Boarding went very smoothly but, as we were on board around noon, our room was not ready until after 1. We explored the ship as this was the first cruise for my 2 friends (I had been on one many ...

Just off the nine night Greek Islands cruise onboard the Serenade out of Civitavecchia in a two bedroom family suite – five adults, (Mom, Dad, DD, DS and DIL). Daughter and I did the 12 night Med cruise onboard the Serenade last year same timeframe out of Barcelona that we enjoyed a tad more. We also spent a week in Rome pre cuise. I arranged for a private mini van from Roma to Civitavecchia (5 ...

Very poorly structured for disabled guests and customer service

Ship Problems:- 1) The elevator calling system is a nightmare at boarding and disembarkation as they are far too busy. On arrival we had to endure the ‘scrum’ of guests competing for elevators which had no logic to them. We eventually worked out they appear to work on a priority call system which in principle sounds sensible, but in practice means that it is impossible for guests to know which ...

Generally a Disappointing Experience

This is our cruise number six and the first and the last cruise was hosted by Royal Caribbean. The first trip was very good; actually it was all we hoped for. The last trip could not, in any way, live up to our expectations. Here is why: • The food. The food in the main restaurant was generally disappointing and often it did not have the right temperature. There was regularly served lukewarm ...

We had a very good holiday on this ship, the staff were great, the food was good although the vegetarian choice was sometimes limited. The entertainment was good and the ports visited were very interesting, except perhaps for Salerno and Messina where we had been before. We did not take part in any organised trips as they were not value for money. we managed to organise our own trips quite ...

Surprised.

I gave my review a title of surprised but unfortunately it was surprised in a bad way. I've been on several RCI cruises so thought I knew what to expect but I was totally wrong. My recent cruising experiences have been with other cruise lines so perhaps that clouded my experience but in reading other reviews I find that's not the case. Dining was not a good experience. We tried before going on ...
