Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

My husband and I went on the September 8 sailing on the Mariner of the Seas to the Eastern Mediterranean. Before the cruise, we took a 5-day land tour of Italy, as part of a RC Cruisetour package. The land portion of the trip was excellent. We had a Promenade cabin. It was noisy. I do not recommend them. We usually cruise with Celebrity. We chose this package because of the itinerary, especially ...

Let me start by saying that despite the date showing on the calendar, the weather was summer hot, hot, hot. The itinerary was outstanding with a good mix of four countries. While some of the reviews I have read on the Mariner of the Seas mentioned that the ship was old and tired is absurd. The ship is clean and well maintained and the staff were more than accommodating. While I don't utilize ...

We were anticipating an OK cruise but got a really good one. We are fortunate to cruise quite frequently, and have gone on numerous Mediteranean cruises on Princess, HAL and years ago on RCCL. None were as good as this one. Our group consisted of myself and my husband both 55,and three boys 18, 19, and 23, and one girl 21. The kids are somewhat jaded as they have cruised and traveled since they ...

Just got back from the Mariner. This was our first RCL cruise and would happily sign on for more. The ship is in good shape and the crew were wonderful. Even though the cruise was based out of Rome and Americans were a minority, the food, activities and general operations were designed for the American market. If you want a "European" style cruise, you won't find it. The food was ...

When selecting a cruise we look to the itinerary more than what a ship has to offer. We always have a balcony for catching up on reading and rarely participate in group activities or main dining room dining. The Mariner is a good ship and well-maintained. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The food in the Windjammer cafe is plentiful and there were varied choices for every meal. What could be bad ...

It's been a week since returning home from our Eastern Mediterranean cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas. This was our 13th cruise, second aboard the Mariner and third in the Med. Rather than write a terribly extensive review of the ship, I thought I'd highlight aspects of the cruise that we liked/disliked in hopes these things might benefit future travelers. We had four cruisers ...

This was only our 2nd cruise, however we loved the 1st so much this is only 1 month later!! It is amazing how many people you hear have done so many cruises. 1 guy 72, another couple 53 in 10 years!! amazing! Show's how good cruising is even for people of our age. I am 34/35 on this cruise and the good lady slightly older. Arrived in Rome, got the coach which was well organised to ...

Really enjoyed the Mariner of the Seas. Loved the fitness center. The staff was friendly and we had a good stateroom attendant, waiter and asst waiter. The food was good for the most part although the desserts were rather bland. We usually stuck with the sugar-free desserts then as they seemed to taste better than the regular desserts. Wasn't too impressed with Cafe Promenade...except the ...

We striated out three nights before in rome Italy. We stayed at one of the best hotels no that I forgot the name, but it was very very nice. EMBARKATION DAY, Embarkation was okay It was in a tent and i thought personally it could be better. We naturally are suite guests and have been for as long as we have been cruising,we expected very efficient boarding since we are priority boarding and ...

We stayed overnight in Civitavecchia as we had previously stayed 3 nights in Rome.We stayed at Tenuta dell'Argento which is a cattle ranch in the hills above the port city. It has a wonderful relaxing location overlooking the port. They have their own restaurant and shuttle service. We had the best room, No. 25 which has the best view of the port and surrounding locale. If you are looking for ...
