Cruise Critic Review This cruise on the Oosterdam was our first with HAL and our 10th cruise overall. The highlights of the cruise were the itinerary and the music in the evenings. The 12 day cruise started in Rome and ended in Venice with stops in Greece, Turkey and Croatia. I won’t say much about the itinerary because the Oosterdam will not cruise this route again. Evenings were fun ...

We chose this trip based on itinerary, the itinerary did not let us down, but the ship noise/ construction zone did! No relaxing pool time, saws n construction noises all day. It came out of dry dock in the midst of Reno, propeller issues, plumbing issues, ac/ heat issues. No hot water for a day, some toilets inoperable. Carpet in the midst of being laid, not vacuumed, dust bunnies. Old tired ...

The Lounge staff were like personal concierges who could handle most anything we might need on ship. They could also make change ...

Always enjoy the service and accomodations on Holland America. First group to set sail after it had been in dry dock with 2 weeks of upgrades. A beautiful ship with a great transformation. The Northern Lights bar exit and the new lounge addition was awesome. Great staff in the newest bar. As always, the Pinnacle Grill and the Italian restaurant were outstanding. A very busy itinerary with only one ...

First, I have noticed some reviews for the Oosterdam dating back to the Spring of 2003 here on Cruise Critic. The Oosterdam's maiden voyage was in August/September 2003, so either these people sailed on another ship or they got their dates wrong. Anyway, we were on one of the very first sailings of the Oosterdam (Rome, Monte Carlo, Marseilles, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Malta, Loutraki, ...
