Our first ever ocean crossing, on Riviera was as effortless as could be. Smooth seas and fine weather. Aside from a kitchen that couldn’t keep up one evening in the main dining room, service was great throughout the ship and over the whole trip. Oceania's Riviera and Marina, by our account, do have the best cuisine of any cruise line. Add their culinary classes and they're a foodie's choice in cruising. Its not a perfect experience, the entertainment, communication, shipboard decor, all fall behind other luxury brands. But for the price and what's included they are hard to beat. The cruise went to some ports wr hadn’t been to and it ended up in Miami. We typically sail Princess and Celebrity, which we enjoy. We were very disappointed in this cruise. The food in the dining room was fair at best, the service was annoying, they would interrupt your conversations constantly to ask if you wanted more water or pepper on your food.
