Getting away with walking difficulties
"30 so we headed to garden café for breakfast which was heaving It quietened down and we ended up being the only ones left there so we headed a bit further back and rested on poolside loungers The colour coded announcements continued alongside pleas not to congregate in lower levels as getting overcrowded This announcement was originally only in English but was then repeated in Spanish giving a clue as to whom were causing the problem Eventually the call came for all remaining passengers to disembark and we headed downstairs to join a very long line snaking through theatre till eventually getting off ship Just as well we had stayed in open air as long as possible-remember 5000 people to disembark!Heading back on board I headed for O Sheehans for fish and chips D headed to cabin to pack ,K to go for a run 6 had seen me return to ship as he had found comfy seats on waterfront deck 8 so clear view of port gates...."Read More

Great Cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I’m not gonna lie, but the staff on the cruise was great. Did we miss a port because of of winds, yes. Did the casino kick my butt, yes. But you can’t blame the crew and the staff for that. We were first time cruises , getting our feet wet. But overall, my wife and I enjoyed it. The staff did their best to help those who came first. My best respect came from the bar staff, I was not a typical ...

I chose this cruise because of its itinerary; in particular, Italy and Spain ports. I was very satisfied with booking process and the help I re wives from NCL agents . NCL had good pricing and promotions like drink package, on board credit, 150 min of free WIFI, and specialty dining. We were happy with our stateroom(10th floor, window) and our steward. Overall, the NCL staff was friendly, ...

We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary but everything else was fantastic. The staff were all excellent and very friendly - so key when you’re on vacation. The ship was kept very clean. The food ( selection and quality ) was great. We loved all the specialty restaurants that we tried. We had reserved dining before our cruise sail date so we were lucky. I had heard that others found it ...

Several years I started a series of blogs relating our adventures[and misadventures] of cruising with someone who has walking difficulties ie my husband. For anonymity I call him 6. You may remember the 70s series about Steve Austin an astronaut who was severely injured and rebuilt with bionics to the tune of 6 million dollars. Well as a result of Rheumatoid arthritis hitting him in his ...

We live in Hawaii. My wife and I wanted to take our 14-year-old daughter on a big trip before she gets older and might no longer be interested in traveling with us. Our goal was to create family memories, expose her to different cultures and show our daughter that the world is a far bigger place than just Hawaii. We booked the Norwegian 'Getaway' with the following itinerary: Jul ...

We did a 17 day cruise with a pre cruise land tour. We were on the Getaway in December from 5-22, 2021 in a mid ship balcony out of Italy. We chose this cruise to replace our canceled cruise to Tahiti from the beginning of Covid. We were excited about Europe. We stayed two days in Rome prior to the cruise and loved Vatican City. The testing prior to boarding at the terminal was confusing. They ...

I have never been on a trans-Atlantic cruise before or on NCL. NCL overall 5 stars for the ship’s crew. They were always polite and helpful. The food was great and the entertainment good. The specialized dining was very good especially enjoyed LeBistro and LaCucina. Portugal shoreline is amazing—definitely worth getting up to watch as ship ports. Malaga, Spain was a favorite for us very pretty ...

Like many others, we had several cruises canceled over the last couple of years and honestly were not sure if this one would happen. We were traveling with the in-laws (76 and 86 y/o), so to be safe, we booked everything, including flights and insurance, through NCL. We also took care of scheduling testing and securing all of the documentation they would need for Europe (French Sanitary Pass, EU ...

First cruise in 10 years!

We booked this cruise around late August, having seen a good deal on the NCL website which included the premium beverage package, 250 minutes of wifi and the prepaid service charges. As per the title, this is my first cruise in a decade (last being on Independence of the Seas on Royal Caribbean), and my first ever with Norwegian. The cruise began in Rome, so we grabbed the earliest flight from ...
