This ship is very old and outdated. Poor condition, rust on bathroom wall and the balcony area. The interior was old and worn out and not very appealing as it was dark and dreary. While inside the ship during the day you felt like it was nightime. the food was just average with limited places to eat lunch or breakfast. The entertainment was just so-so and limited for a long 16 day cruise. The ...
We chose this cruise because it was a great price and we loved the ports prior to the transatlantic crossing. Here are some bullet points of our disappointment:
When I entered my stateroom there was duct tape on the vent in the shower room and the toilet room.
There was lots of rust all around the ship, including our balcony.
There were ceiling tiles falling down in one of ...
I recently cruised on the EPIC, May 11 thru May 20 with spouse and 2 friends. A couple weeks before we sailed out of Rome, the cruise line cancelled one of its ports (Sorrento) one of the specific reasons for choosing the ship was for the itinerary. The cabins with balcony were strangely configured, meaning, the layout was horrible, tiny thin counter space, a bathroom on right side upon entrance ...
This was literally the worst experience I have ever had on vacation. The staff were inept, their english terrible. They ignored all requests regardless of how serious. I was not alone in noting this, having met dozens of passengers with the same issues with the Guest services staff. The cleanliness of the cabin was horrible. I found the previous passengers trash under my bed, which remained there ...
I have cruised dozens of times, but this was my first cruise with NCL. The problems started before the cruise; I called to see if any room upgrades were available and was told yes and that it would be free. This seemed odd, but the phone representative seemed sure. So I agreed. Weeks later, I called wondering why I still had no air reservations and was told this would be done 30 days before ...
It's probably going to be difficult to describe the full extend of our disappointment with this cruise, but I'll give it my best try, with as much detail as possible so that you can appreciate why we were so disappointed.
Embarkation
Got on after spending an endless time waiting for an antigen test (which later showed up on the invoice as a $65 pp charge, when it doesn't even cost half ...
We chose this cruise to see as much as possible on a short trip. First mistake NEVER board in Rome. The port is a hole, the train serving it has no luggage space and when we arrived at the port the lifts were out of order so everyone struggled with suitcases, prams etc up and down stairs. The transportation buses were old and cramped and again very little space for bags and no porters.
We were ...
Really the worst cruise we’ve been on! Booked it for the itinerary and after our precruise experience, would have cancelled if we weren’t traveling with a large group (hard to rebook at that point!)
Before the cruise- online process had many glitches and was not easy to manage, particularly with multiple rooms on the reservation. Lots of inaccurate info, many issues with prebooking things, and ...
This is my 5th cruise on NCL and have been every happy with the last 4. The Epic disappointed in nearly every way. 1st let's start with the things the line can no longer change like the layout of the cabins and the deck plans. The bathroom situation in the cabins is beyond uncomfortable. There is no bathroom door just a curtain. When traveling with just a couple this might not be such an issue ...
I had a terrible room steward. He failed to clean my room the second day and never introduced himself to me when we first boarded. I had to call and complain to have my room properly cleaned. I had someone come see me but I think that either my steward has too many rooms assigned or there was poor training. Every time I called either the housekeeping or the guest service number it rang with ...
