We are a 70+ couple with over 60 cruises under our belt. We did this cruise mainly because of the ‘best food at sea’ Oceania prides itself. Well, we found that this claim is not much more than just advertising. The food was good, but certainly not at the level of a six star ship. This was an college alumni organized cruise and I had a group of friends that went with me on a cruise of the Mediterranean (Spain, France and Italy). The ship service and food was very good. My husband and I were on the Nautica for the 10-day Western Europe Escapade. We sailed from the Port of Rome to Barcelona and then visited Cartagena, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; Oporto, Portugal; Bilbao, Spain; and Bordeaux, France. We have cruised many times with mid-size ships primarily on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess and wanted to see if we'd enjoy the "lite" luxury of Oceania. Pros: Small ship experience, no crowds. No art sales, photos & photos to buy/or not, no formal nights as found on mass-market cruises, which was very refreshing.
