We booked this cruise specifically for the itinerary, which included Malta, Sicily, Rhodes, and Crete. While we had a number of issues on board, there were a few outstanding crew members who helped redeem the experience. The food was pretty good in all venues. The boat is fairly old (20+ years) and shows its age. Overall, we would give it a 2.5/5 based on the following:
1. We lost count of the ...
Have always wanted to do a cruise to Israel and this one gave us 3 days to explore.
took the Celebrity transfer from the airport to the port, bus was old and a bit hot and stuffy. Did not like the port of Civitaveccihia, embarkation was in a tent. Your passport is taken away and given back to you on board when you need it for any excursions you have booked. It is a security requirement by ...
Classic Drinks Package-to 9$ a drink- except not highlighted you pay in full if the included drinks are from cabin mini bar or served with food in cabin, & you pay in full for $5/6 fruit & smoothies drinks from the Spa Bar. It's either a drinks package or it isn't, & it isn't. A rip off.
Horrendous loud screaming music in the buffet restaurant - turn it OFF! This is not a pleasant dining ...
Loved the ship. The interior was beautiful. The meals in the Brittania restaurant were very good and our waiter was cheerful and helpful.
Not too impressed with the entertainment.although the Harpist and string trio were very good.
Embarkation was a fiasco and disembarkation wasn't much better .StateRoom and table for dining not assigned when we boarded the ship.
Don't bother with the ...
I knew it wasn't going to be a good thing when I received an email telling me embarkation wouldn't begin until after 1 PM for a 5 o'clock departure. We were onboard after 2 PM and went to the buffet. It looked like a shark feeding frenzy. It wasn't possible to get a table since everyone got on board late and relatively at the same time. We opted to skip the buffet and hang out by the pool. We ...
This particular sailing was way too busy. The first two days of the cruise were sea days but after that, it was port after port after port. A saving grace was an overnight in Barcelona. I just wished the overnight was in La Spezia. The itinerary was a big blur as I tried to look back. * I booked a Suite Class room directly through CelebrityCruises.com. The website indicated in-suite espresso. I ...
This particular cruise was an absolute failure in terms of delivering on any of the marketing made on their website or in their expensive shiny brochures and I do not think I will ever sail on Silversea again. Where to start? First of all, we are well experienced as cruisers, and as travelers, have refined palates and are all lovers of fine wines...so we did have a standard of expectations here, ...
Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze. Size of ship was a plus. No lines for on/off at ports. Clear signage for water shuttle back to ship in Venice caused us to look for shuttle for 1 hour. Phone number on our ship card was no longer in service. We finally took water taxi to the pier (70 euros) to avoid being left behind when ship sailed from Venice. Food was just OK in 2 main restaurants. ...
My wife and I choose this cruise to celebrate our 27th anniversary just the 2 of us, and to visit Venice the first time; this ship docked overnight in Venice which is perfect to see this amazing city.
We searched many cruise ships, and choose this one due to the brand name "Cunard" for luxury cruises. We found out to be over exaggerated.
First the cabin is not comfortable due to the air ...
Recommended by a friend. Day one presented a sewage smell in the hallway to our cabin an persisted for 2 more days. We went to the windjammer for lunch and immediately noticed the use of antibacterial gel was not being enforced at the entrance of the dining room. This would later result in a norovirus breakout on the ship which the crew kept under wraps from passengers. Rumours from honest crew ...
