My wife and myself have just completed our second cruise with Royal Caribbean, This time on one of the smaller ships, it had good and bad points, The ship was very well run from the moment we arrived at Rome airport, RC staff took control of everything , luggage was taken and delivered to our cabin, transfers were on time and embarkation was smooth.

Diamond Member creature of habit.
It seems that Royal Caribbean management is just going through the motion.
The exceptional service that I have received through the years seems to be a thing of the past. I do not know if this is indicative of the cruise industry as a whole. However, after this cruise, I am switching cruise lines and will find out.

We spent 4 days in Rome before the cruise- beautiful city easy to explore. Booked a shuttle to the port which is about a 45 minute drive from downtown Rome. Dropped us right at the tent for luggage drop off and the line for Royal Caribbean embarkation. Quick and easy-we arrived about 11:30 and were at the pool by noon!! I think the captain said it best - he likes this class of ships best - the ship has the same propulsion as the largest ships with a smaller ship size. Thus making it the Maserati of the Sea.
