Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas Nov 5-17 2018 Rome to San Juan. This was our first time on RC and was not disappointed at the ship and staff. This is the best room we have had on any ship and the crew was above average. This reminded me of my first cruise many years ago when the crew was happy and new your name. The Captain was a hoot, and would come on each day announcements with a ...

Always wanted to do a transatlantic and sure glad I choice NCL Star - although we got off to a rocky start and missed the port of Madiera (weather related - I understand that other ships missed it also) NCL compensated by giving us extra time in Barcelona. Our room steward was fabulous (Muhammand) - our cabin was great (I picked it out) the location was also perfect - right near the elevator and ...

I chose this cruise because I wanted to experience a Europe to the States crossing. I had made the crossing three times before in the other direction and wanted to experience the opposite this time. Embarkation was smooth but stressful for me because my airline lost my luggage in Madrid while I went on to Rome to catch the ship! I must say, however, that everyone I met onboard from my cabin ...

Instead of flying from Rome to Canada, chose to do a TA with some interesting places and some heat, we then switched to the Celebrity Summit to do a one week southern Caribbean. Despite disappointment with the Jewel itinerary changes,we had a great time. Embarkation and disembarkation were easy. Ship was old, mid-size, but had more offerings and character than some larger ships. Inside ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Koningsdam

We previously crossed the Atlantic on the Koningsdam (west to east) and so we returned 6 months later. Nothing much had changed since my last review so it was still an excellent cruise with one big improvement. The duelling pianists on this trip were Paulina & Ivy who were outstanding. The other entertainment was also of a high standard. The food was also very good. Our cabin stewards were again ...

Don't believe the negative reviews

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Costa Deliziosa

Costa Deliziosa – My wife and I just got back from a TA (20 days) on the Deliziosa leaving from Rome and ending in Ft. Lauderdale and let me say from the beginning that all the negative reviews of Costa and this ship in particular proved false. The embark was fast and very efficient. We were in our room (BC Balcony) with our bags, in less than 20 minutes. I had booked a few things through ...

Hard to beat their cuisine and value!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Riviera

Oceania's Riviera and Marina, by our account, do have the best cuisine of any cruise line. Add their culinary classes and they're a foodie's choice in cruising. Its not a perfect experience, the entertainment, communication, shipboard decor, all fall behind other luxury brands. But for the price and what's included they are hard to beat. Of the five alternative dining venues, all are very good ...

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Riviera

As usual, we chose this Oceania cruise for the itinerary, the food, and the service and it did not disappoint. Venice is a wonderful city to explore when you get away from the crowds around San Marco square. Other highlights on this itinerary included Malta, Rome and Barcelona. Although Oceania’s shore excursions are pricey and we are not fond of large group tours, we booked quite a few of their ...

This was our 4th or 5th cruise on the Jewel. Beautiful ship with a fantastic crew. However there are a few things that seem to be unfolding on Royal. New cabins have expanded the guest population but have also reduced the number of crew. The Main Dining room has become crowded with fewer wait staff and more congestion. The food was good. As I have a very bland pallet it does not take much to ...
