The pool areas are nice, and have retractable roofs in case it rains. It does get a bit hot when the roof is extended.

The Caribbean sunsets were some of the best parts of this cruise. Especially if you got to see them from the top decks while leaving port.

NEVER AGAIN COSTA

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Pacifica

So we left from Barcelona to Valencia, persecuted by a day at sea, but ... on 5 May, when entering Cagliari, there was a report of technical problems, but no problem, because everyone had to be at 17 o'clock (the normal departure time) back on board. Nevertheless, at 18 o'clock we got the message that all excursions of the next day, 6 May, were canceled and that the port Civitavecchia-Rome was ...

After booking this cruise, I started reading the reviews posted by Cruise Critic and I started worrying I may have made a mistake. 53% say they loved it I thought was low. So we were forewarned of possible issues with the ship. The cruise itself was great! The problem starts right from the beginning when you board, there are serious language issues and that is our fault not the cruise lines. ...

Avoid Costa at all costs!!!!

We selected this cruise for the itinerary. This was really the only good thing about it. From the moment we boarded, we felt as though we had been had. Never have we been on a cruise that was so terrible! EVERYTHING is extra on this ship. They do NOT offer complimentary coffee or water. They do NOT have free ice cream or pizza. Their drink packages FORCE you and your cabin-mate to take the most ...

I'm sorry to have to write this and perhaps add to Costas problems, however I believe people should be able to make an informed decision. We went on this cruise with no prior views on the changes Costa has made in recent months. On the good side we booked directly with costa UK and got a good bargain for a premium balcony cabin. if I had paid any more I would probably be more scathing in this ...

Great Cruise on Costa Pacifica

As first-time cruisers, we were a little apprehensive after reading all the reviews on this site, particularly about the food. But we had nothing to worry about. We chose Costa because we wanted a Latin/European experience to cruise the Med. We didn't want to be on a ship full of Brits, Americans and Australasians. This cruise appeared to be good value for money, and WAS. Balcony cabins appear much ...

Costa Pacifica Nightmare Cruise

We intentionally arrived at the port after 1:00pm hoping that many would have already embarked. Unfortunately, embarkation did not even begin until after we had arrived so we had to wait for one hour and 45 minutes before getting on the ship. The embarkation area was clean, as were the restrooms and they offered water to the passengers. Italians don't understand the meaning of a line, so when they ...

Pacifica: the Novel (with happy ending)

Costa Pacifica. A Novel. We are a couple in our 40's who have cruised 12 times (HAL, X, Oceania, Carnival, RCCL, Regal Empress, NCL, MSC). We booked this cruise because of the itinerary, price and, in part, international clientele. We are independent travelers--have only taken 2 excursions on all these trips--who like to explore new cultures via interesting itineraries, and relax on board when we ...

I had read all the reviews and boards to know what to expect on Costa. It had a good itinerary and fit our schedule perfectly so we booked it anyway. Here is my list of positives and negatives of our cruise the week before Easter. Embarkation: We took the train from Rome which is easy until you get off in Civitivecchia where there are two staircases to negotiate (no elevator) so be ready to haul ...

Alitalia bad! Costa better.

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Pacifica

Booking Alitalia to Rome was a mistake as even our Italian friends tell us. It is Western Europe's version of Aeroflot. We had only allowed six and a half hours until our cruise left. The plane was three late in landing. The first bag off the belt appeared 45 minutes later. After an hour and forty five minutes, we received two of our three bags. During the delay, we had tried several times ...

We got to Rome and our luggage was lost both mine and my wife's, also about twelve other people on our KLM flight from Amsterdam. I'm disabled but can walk a little with a lot of pain. After filling missing luggage forms out we were rushed by Costa reps to the bus which we thought were outside, but no they were 1/4 mile away up the road as taxis were out the front. All the time we and other ...
