Great and horrible

The ship was very clean. The dining room food and service were better than the last 21 cruises we have been on. The entertainment exceeded our expectations. The Horrible. A water main broke on the ship. We had no water to the cabins for about 6 hours. It wouldn't have been so bad except passengers were not notified. Rumors started to spread that deck 2 was under water and deck 3 was ...

Still enjoy Celebrity Lines, but think they are cutting back in many areas.

We spent a few days in Lake Como and toured Italy, then enjoyed the birthday holiday cruise. The crew on Celebrity are always fantastic, but think the powers that be, the management, are making changes. cutting back on many things, and the food is not as good as it has been, or on other lines. Competition for our business is huge and hate to see Celebrity change. The open seating dining was a ...

Atlantic crossing

We chose this cruise because we spent a week in Prauge and Rome before boarding this trans-Atlantic cruise. The ship missed one port of call because of the weather (never refunded the port charges) but the rest of the crossing the seas were very calm and the weather warm. We found the food day after day to be boring, except if you paid extra for the specialty restaurants (about $100 for 2 ...

This one the best yet - a big part to Cruise Critic and the Roll Call. Signed up for two excursions I learned about through the Roll Call. Weather prevented us from stopping for the France excursion, but, the tour in Mallorca was WONDERFUL - a small friendly group, a van, great tour guide and time for shopping, food tasting and stops throughout the Island. This was my 3rd cruise on the ...

Singles events...NOT!

Wished it had more "single events". Noting that singles were to meet at 8pm at xx and not having a crew member organizer there, is fruitless since I'm not going to tap-on-shoulder those present at the bar to ask them. (first day there were 3 men at the bar at 8pm. Who is to say whether they were there as a group for themselves?!?) Trivia, I guess is doable, but I don't do Trivia. I missed the ...

My wife and I have cruised with Celebrity many times but this was our first time sailing on the Silhouette. It was a major disappointment comparing it to the other trips with Celebrity. The food in the main dinning room was marginal at best and not once in the 15 that we ate in the main dinning room did our dinner arrive hot. the meals were warm at best. Portion sizes have been reduced to ...

This was our first time on the Silhouette and I have to say it was our favorite! From the start to the finish we had a wonderful time. The food was very good. Went to two speciality restaurants and we enjoyed them also. Best pastries in the coffee shop by far! The service was excellent. It amazes me how the staff can maintain such a high standard of service. The ship was very ...

We chose this cruise after doing significant research on several transatlantic crossings. This was our first transatlantic and we loved the idea of starting in Rome and making stops in the Western Med. Amazing ports including Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Palma and Tenerife. We chose to do the shore excursions provided by Celebrity (something we normally don't do) because we were not familiar with ...

Celebrity Silhouette TA Nov. 2017

Overall, this was a very enjoyable trip. This was only our 3rd-ever cruise, the first two being on the Carnival Glory in the Caribbean. So we have only a little to compare to. My wife and I seek value for our travel dollar, so we did not take any optional drink packages or pay for the optional restaurant meals. We organized our own shore excursions, renting a car on two islands, to do our own ...

Our first TA and our second trip on the S Class ships. We absolutely enjoyed our time on the Silhouette. We stayed in Aqua but dined mostly in other venues including the MDR. The main dining room offered excellent service and excellent food. Blu is always top notch service. Qsine was so much fun, we dined there three nights. Tuscan Grill remains our favorite. Sushi on 5 was always ...
