A reunion cruise with some great folks from Oz and Texas that we met on HAL's Volendam 2 years back. All agreed Celebrity a big improvement over HAL.
The Eastern Med destinations in Turkey and Israel led to a little pre-cruise anxiety but all was well.
Blu restaurant top class and Quisine as wonderful as ever. Layout of 15th deck is big improvement over Eclipse and Solstice. LawnClub Grill ...
We have been on many cruises but this cruise was one of the best.Althogh big it was easy to get around. The staff were helpful and polite.Afyer a few days the omlette chef was calling me by my name. The balcony cabin was fine.We were aqua class so we had extras in the cabin. We also could eat at Blue which was lovely and ate there most nights. We bought the package for the speciality dining and that ...
Did not have time to stay in Rome before or after but have been to Rome before . Selected the Silhouette because of the ports it was visiting and because we have sailed on the Sister ship in 2012 . From the first night on our ship we had a great overall experience . We took the early dinner sitting because we like to eat early and be able to watch the entertainment after and the entertainment was ...
Can't say enough about the itinerary, staff, food and condition of the ship! All were terrific! We had sailed on Silhouette during its first year and didn't like the service near as much. Captain Dimitrios K. is so friendly and entertaining. This was a great way for us to visit Israel and other great ports and we would definitely do it again! Felt very safe there as well as in Ephesus Turkey. ...
We picked this cruise because of it going to Israel and even though Shimon Peres's state funeral took place during our time there it was a very interesting and satisfying visit with minor rescheduling by our tour operator. We had booked Guided Tours of Israel thanks to recommendations on Cruise Critic and found them excellent.
Aqua Class is our preference and we did not find any drop in ...
We did sail with HAL a couple of times, but Celebrity was the only cruise line to offer 3 days in Israel. So this was our first Celebrity Cruise, chosen solely because of the itinerary. Our first impression?
Service is excellent. Young crowd. Or at least younger than we experienced on our HAL cruises. The ship was immaculate. We were in awe! And I dare say that we will sail Celebrity ...
Although no cruise ship, crew, itinerary and food will make all cruisers happy all the time, we are very happy that we took this 14 night cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette. Like all other Solstice Class ship, the Celebrity Silhouette is a very beautiful ship. If the opportunity presents itself, we would love to cruise on this ship again.
We stayed in Room 2140 on the Resort Deck. The room ...
The cruise ship, the staff, the places we visited and the passengers together made this the best cruise I have ever been on and I have sailed on about 10 cruises.
Firstly the ship was just the right size so that we met most of the passengers but did not feel overcrowded. About 2,500 people on board. There were enough deckchairs for everyone with some spare.
OMG the Captain was the funniest ...
Nine of us travelled together on this ship and we had an excellent time. After 14 days none of us wanted to go home. Our cabin was 1658 and it was very quiet. We chose this cruise because of the Israel ports. We've been to the Med several times but never stopping in Ashdod or Haifa. This ship had an excellent cruise director and a very funny captain of the ship. The entertainment was the ...
As far as I could tell, most people on this trip chose it for the itinerary -- three days in Israel. Many of us had never been there. Unfortunately, the Celebrity Cruises decided that it was not worth the risk to dock in Israeli ports and have people go on excursions.
It is not possible for me to second guess them on this. The people on the ground that we were in touch with said that ...
