Had only been on Millenium class previously and they were older dated ships. The Silhouette changed all my previous ideas about Celebrity. Silhouette is bright, roomy, larger cabins and outstanding food. The buffet restaurant was very spacious, open and airy. Very seldom did it appear like the restaurant was full. Dining room seemed a little cramped but the service was great. Ports of call ...
We chose this cruise mainly because Celebrity stayed 3 days in Israel, offered a good
itinerary at a decent price considering the superior level of entertainment, service and food. Second reason for choosing Celebrity: we love their lecture programs that are historical, cultural, or just useful (shore excursions). Both of their lectors on this cruise were top-notch. On sea days there were 2 ...
Context: fourth Celebrity cruise; third in the Med. Self and wife travelling.
Pros:
Best service in buffet we've had. Very efficient and friendly. Food up to standard.
Good service in MDR, but some meal sizes have got very small - like the lamb main course which had three pieces of leg of land each around 3" x 1".
Excellent experiences with Lawn Club Grill, Murano and Tuscan; all with ...
We chose this cruise because of the destination ports (Italy, Israel and Greece). All of our previous cruising experience was on Holland America. Overall, the ship is in great condition and service was as expected, what I didn't like:
* Food in dining was sub-par, especially for what we paid. Quality was not good, portions were small - I was surprised they did not have menu and wine options ...
This was my 7th Celebrity X cruise and it certainly comes in 7th in terms of satisfaction. It is our first time on Celebrity Silhouette.
The ship itself is in reasonable condition with the obvious signs of wear and tear, however having threadbare sofa's and upholstery absent from staterooms leave a very poor sight. Old carpets need to be installed asap.
The itinerary was Israel and the Med ...
We chose this cruise for the 3 nights in Israel. The ship is excellent, food in MDR is very good at night the lunches in MRD are poor but Ocean view is much better for lunch. The entertainment was good the production shows were my least favorite on Celebrity. Jayne Curry was a great headline entertainer and Sue cruise director was very funny. We booked our land tours with See Amalfi coast in ...
My wife and I are destinations cruisers. We chose this cruise because it began and ended in Rome, with stops in Naples, Italy; Ashdod, Israel (Jerusalem); Haifa, Israel; Mykonos, Greece; Athens, Greece; and Crete.
Embarkation in Rome was not up to UIS standards but certainly manageable from a time stand point.
Debarkation was a snap because we had a Rome tour the morning we returned.
We ...
Itinerary, timing and pricing were key factors in choosing this cruise.
The ports were mostly places we wanted to see.
It was the end of season to avoid crowds and the heat of summer.
The price was very good because of late season.
The ship is still new, clean and staff were very welcoming.
Did not like the constant sales pressure to buy fancy restaurant packages, Internet, spa and ...
We have been on many cruises but this cruise was one of the best.Althogh big it was easy to get around. The staff were helpful and polite.Afyer a few days the omlette chef was calling me by my name. The balcony cabin was fine.We were aqua class so we had extras in the cabin. We also could eat at Blue which was lovely and ate there most nights. We bought the package for the speciality dining and that ...
Did not have time to stay in Rome before or after but have been to Rome before . Selected the Silhouette because of the ports it was visiting and because we have sailed on the Sister ship in 2012 . From the first night on our ship we had a great overall experience . We took the early dinner sitting because we like to eat early and be able to watch the entertainment after and the entertainment was ...
