For the Suez Canal passage and other tour stops. The price was a great value as well.
The tours really varied, it was either a great experience with the tour guide or not. The guides for the Celebrity arranged tours in Athens and Petra were great. In Abu Dhabi, the guide was so scattered going through the mosque, the group basically took matters into our own hands to make the most of the ...
The holiday was part of my wife's 80th birthday celebration.
Having been several cruises with other companies we wanted to try out the Celebrity Cruise line. Also we had never before been through the Suez Canal.
We spent a few days in Rome (a city we are familiar with) before the cruise and then a few days in Dubai (a new experience) at the end. Seen it now - wouldn't go back!
The ship ...
Chose this primarily because of the time in Israel and Greece. Celebrity have chosen to put an outside movie theatre at the rear of the ship on deck 12 (More of a "terrace than a deck really) which has a negative impact on all the rear- facing 11th floor cabins, especially 1140.
Israel was not as good as I had hoped - the crowds are really bad - and we went when things were "quiet". By really ...
The free use of the thallasotherapy pool and spas were great. Deck chair hogs were not.
Smoking was allowed on the far corner of the pool deck and the smell was disgusting. Had to hold my breath when I needed to pass through the area. Why not have smoking on an open deck where others do not have to inhale second hand smoke?
Rude able-bodied passengers occupied the two tables set aside for ...
We did noy stay in Rome before departure as we have visited a couple of times before in depth,so we went straight from the airport to the shipwe did not have a great start here as we were told in baggage reclaim to look out on the left hand side when exciting missed them they were behind a great big pillar we walked around the arrivals and went back to our starting point luckily for us we spotted ...
New places to visit and new cultures to experience. The ports of call were excellent and the time in its port adequate for the tours planned. The crew was good for the most part although attention to detail was lacking. The ship was clean and the housekeeping did a great job. The Hotel manager was visible but not engaged. The Staff Captain did a great job keeping the crew doing their duties as ...
We were somewhat concerned about boarding a 15 year old ship and also about dining and entertainment due to our most recent experience on a Celebrity ship (on that occasion we had just completed a cruise on HAL where the food was outstanding...).
Well, the ship was in a very good shape, food at the main dining room and at the cafeteria was never disappointing, and the entire staff lived up to ...
the itinerary was very very interesting. the staff in general were very nice on board. some staff were very friendly while others were not whereas on a holland ship all staff are friendly. they also responded quickly when things were brought to their attention. the food was very good, portion sizes were just right. The buffet should be designed better as to traffic flow. the reflection lounge ...
We chose this cruise for the ports of call. These included Malta, Israel, Crete and Mykonos.
First sailed on this ship 15 years ago, however, the Constellation is still in a wonderful condition. The public areas still look smart and the only thing we noticed was some wear on the seats in the theatre.
Service on board is excellent from the cabin attendants, the bar staff, guest services and ...
Celebrity food and service were both exceptional! Ship may be showing a bit of age, but the crew and service remain outstanding! Dining room food some of the best experienced in many cruises. Bar staff and service great throughout the ship, especially the Martini Bar (Ice Bar!). Check-in process at the pier seemed a bit awkward, but no serious problems. The cruise buffet food was not the best we ...
