We chose this cruise because we have done several transatlantics and really enjoyed them. We flew to Rome 2 days early and stayed at the Hotel Diocleziano. We chose this hotel as it is located near Teremini Train Station as we took the train to the port. We had been to Rome several times so we just did our own thing. Really enjoyed outdoor cafes and restaurants.
The train to Civitavecchia ...
We cruised on Celebrity Millenium 10+ years ago and still remember the outstanding experience. We anticipated the same high quality service level and entertainment existed today, alas not.
The nightly shows in the theater were fair -- the ship's cast of singers (Broken Strings show) and show guests (We3Vocal, Divalution (Lauren Tidbit was the only good singer), Gid Pool). The ship's cast was ...
My wife Coby and I chose this transatlantic cruise to celebrate our retirement and take a journey we've never taken before.
Some highlights.
Booked directly through Celebrity including Celebrity Air flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Charlotte to Rome.
Couldn't have been looked after better.
Greater by two Celebrity reps before we cleared customs who immediately took over looked after our ...
This was our second cruise on the Celebrity Reflection but our first Transatlantic crossing. We were in a balcony cabin on Deck 8. The ship itself is already several years old but it could have been brand new; it is very well kept and spotlessly clean. Because it was a 14 night cruise in October, the passengers seemed to be mostly retired, in their 60s and older. There were virtually no children ...
Great cruise (our 20th, and second crossing)! Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis made it so much fun (I can't remember a cruise where so many looked forward to the captain's early morning announcement, and actually stopped to listen to it) and set the tone for the crew, who were all wonderful, helpful and attentive. Made several new friends from all over the world among both guests and crew...one of the ...
This was our first trans-atlantic cruise, and our first cruise on Celebrity. It was a fantastic experience. The crew were all attentive and helpful, the food was mostly excellent, and the ship was in beautiful condition. We didn't think the live music offerings were all that great. The entertainment in the theater was good with one exception. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants and think that ...
Pro:
1. Love the Transatlantic crossings – so many relaxing at-sea days!
2. Fellow cruisers on these crossings tend to be more experienced travelers who are fun to meet. Made friends we plan to see again.
3. Took advantage of Captain’s Club Elite benefits, especially breakfasts and cocktail receptions, some free laundry and internet, etc. Also appreciated the Cruise Critic event, ...
The ship was beautiful, the staff amazing and I loved Rome and the ports we visited. But the seven days at sea were a bit boring. Not much to do during the day. Most of the talks were nothing but infomercials trying to sell services on the ship. Went to play bingo, but the cost was $39, $49 or $59, a bit steep. I should have looked into it more before I booked a transatlantic cruise. Will ...
Why this cruise? Loyalty, Location & timing & price! Celebrity continues to lead the pack from all I see and hear from other cruisers. But it's not the experience it has been in the past. The FIVE (yes, 5) speciality restaurants have taken a bit of a toll on the main dining room fare. Selection, preparation & presentation of main dining room fare remains excellent. Service is friendly and ...
My husband and I loved everything about this cruise, from the beautiful ship, the wonderful food, and the fantastic service! We traveled with another couple, and since they were familiar with Cruise Critic, they went ahead and booked our 4 excursions with the other Cruise Critic passengers. I will definitely start using Cruise Critic myself.
We had an assigned early seating and our table for ...
