1-10 of 35 Rome (Civitavecchia) to Europe - Western Mediterranean Celebrity Edge Cruise Reviews
Very good itinerary on the first of a new class of ship.
There were four restaurant options for grades up to and including Concierge which we interchanged across all four. The menu's for these have a common thread plus 3 regional starters / mains that are special to each restaurant. Restaurant table layouts were excellent and the food/service top class - better than any other Celebrity ship. ...
After much excitement and over a year of waiting for our first sailing on Celebrity Edge , we have hands-down decided that the Solstice Class ships are our favorite ships on Celebrity. Edge Is a beautiful ship but I found it locked the intimacy of the beautiful lounge gathering areas on Solstice Class ships. We missed seeing our fellow cruisers dancing in the grand foyer at nght and did not care ...
The itinerary was the first factor. Wanted to try out the new class of ship. It is a floating piece of art. Every detail is stunning. The new stage has all the bells and whistles. The food was tyical Celebrity presentarions. Good to very good. Movies in the garden, great touch. We enjoyed the new cabin redesign. Every thing was pristine. Very good areas for smokers.. The Edge sets the bar high ...
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise BUT we did not like the ship for the following reasons:-
1) It is far too modern
2) There are a lot of dark rooms that look quite depressing.
3) We did not like the fixed dining room - unlike Solstice class there are 4 almost identical dining rooms instead of the 3 floor Dining and you are allotted one of them, you can get a seat in any ...
We waited over a year to board the Edge and of course we've read all the mixed reviews before the trip. We're mid-40 couples who love food and travel. Been on Celebrity, RCCL, NCL, and Oceania.
So in terms of aesthetic the Edge did not disappoint. It was definitely the nicest large-sized cruise ship in the market. Staff spent alot of effort to maintain the beautiful condition of everything. I ...
Main reason we picked this ship was loved the ports of call. Spent 3 days prior in Rome which was also consideration. Loved the Edge, it really is something to see. So new and modern and without a doubt best service . We Loved Blu, not having to have a specific dining time was the key. I bid for upgrade to Aqua mainly because I couldn’t get select dining time and was glad we did. Rooms are same as ...
This was our "trip of a lifetime" to celebrate our 30th anniversary! First time for both of us to Italy and cruising in Europe. We have cruised a few times on Celebrity before, mostly from NJ to Bermuda. We liked the itinerary and the Edge looked like a fun ship.
What we loved: embarkation and disembarkation were the fastest we've ever experienced, having the Seapass waiting for you on your ...
BOOKING
We were not particularly looking for a cruise on the Edge, but it came up as best value when I compared with others (including other Celebrity offerings) in Western Med around the same time. I guess they must have been struggling to fill this cruise since we were still getting email offers to bid for an upgrade one week before embarkation. To be honest we were quite excited to be ...
This was our fourth cruise with Celebrity, but the first one on a new ship. We read and saw many things about the ship both pro and con. Having been on many, many other cruise ships, the Edge was amazing. The cabin, dining, entertainment, and service was outstanding. We chose an Infinite Veranda. This is much different from your standard veranda stateroom. We found it to be 99% positive, 1% ...
