I loved our last Celebrity cruise and did miss the wonderful front facing lounge on the Solstice Class ship. The Edge was beautiful, but lacked some of the more comfortable lounge areas. I found the entertainment to largely be very good, only a couple misses on a 12 day cruise is hardly room for complaint. However, they clearly did not have the staff necessary for this particular cruise which I ...

A fabulous ship with just one exception

We took the last Med cruises of the season, then did B2B with the transatlantic crossing, for a total of 25 nights. The only negative in the ship design is that there is no forward-facing observation deck. For me, that was a big deal. We also made the mistake of booking a traditional balcony cabin, thinking we would have connecting balconies with our travel companions. Turned out they weren't ...

first time on the celebrity cruise so i can't compare to their other classes of ships but i thought it was good. we were on the cruise that was in Rome, Sicily, day at sea, santorini, athens, mykonos, naufplion, katakolon, day at sea, malta, naples, back to rome. embarkation: very smooth process- maybe 10 minutes; we did the cruise's transfer from the airport to the port and once we were off ...

Long ship review - sailed Sept 30 Mediterranean

I had multiple frustrations long before boarding. Most of which were related to the fact that my mother and I were in different staterooms and it was very difficult to coordinate reservations for excursions or dinner. I was able to for main dining after I figured out how to associate a reservation (tho website still less than intuitive as you have to check the selection you JUST entered for it ...

Large ship, small complaints

We choose the Edge because of the Greek Islands. Sounded great, but once there, everywhere was crowded. We thought by October most tourists would have been gone, but not the case. As for the ship, very modern, seemed like lots of wasted space, should have at elevators better directions for finding your way around the ship. Our room, 6197 was beautiful. Lots of storage space, loved that ...

Lovely ship, food was excellent in all areas. Did not try speciality restaurants.Staff all very friendly. Entertainment different to other ships but enjoyed them. Loved the rooftop garden with film in afternoon. Eden was our favourite bar for pre dinner drinks Oliver the bar attendant was great. Also loved breakfast outside of Oceanview Restaurant. Shops way out of our price range. Lovely ...

Average ship with great itinerary

I want to start this out by saying the ship is gorgeous and the staff is incredible. I appreciate everything Celebrity tried to do with this ship. To me, the ship lost some of it's charm though. The reason my wife and I chose this cruise was partly due to it's itinerary, but mostly because we were on the Celebrity Soltice and were smitten hearing about this new amazing ship. The solstice, ...

When is a balcony not a balcony?

The Edge is a fairly new ship trying to break the mould, but unfortunately it is a bit like Marmite, you etither love it or not! We are the not type. Although I have stated we had a Balcony there are two types on this ship and the Infinity balcony is definately a miss selling as it is more an ocean view with a window that opens (when it doesn't get stuck and makes a lot of noise). The ship decor ...

Single cabins with obstructed views.

Overall lovely ship and itinerary, despite changes due to bad weather. However single cabin booked off plan with Celebrity 18 months ago did not indicate a 50% obstruction. Lifeboats situated all the way along single cabins on decks 6 and 7 port and starboard. Some have 0% obstruction and some 50%. Mine was the latter. I have photos to show entire bottom half of infinity window blocked. Even with ...

We chose this cruise mainly for its itinerary but also for the opportunity to sail on a new, innovative ship. What we found was a beautiful ship with excellent service. Having said that, there were some areas that need improvement. Please keep in mind that these are only our personal views and may not reflect everyone’s perspective. We are senior citizens and on our recent 11-day Greek Islands ...
