I've done three cruises with Oceania before this one and had pretty good times - in those instances there seemed to be some fun folks interested in mingling with the solo travelers and the smaller ships were more cozy and open to mixing people - there were always plenty of shared tables and lots of inclusion. For some reason, this cruise had a different vibe - perhaps because it was the time and ...

We have been on over 60 cruises so not new to cruiseing. We had not been on Holland America in over 10 years but the itinerary was great and the price reasonable. This cruise was recommended to us by our travel agent. It was touted as a luxurious venue with superior services. We were disappointed with the ship overall. We met wonderful people onboard. The pool deck area is lovely as is the spa and fitness area The outdoor dining deck is also charming. The food in the specialty restaurants was good. The entertainment was quite weak. It was ...

BACKGROUND: We are frequent, experienced travelers and have taken over 25 cruises on at least nine different lines. We booked the 20 day Christening Cruise of the Koningsdam (actually 13 day Christening and 7 day Norway) for the off-the-beaten-path ports and the chance to sail on a new ship. We had previously taken one HAL cruise in 2005. SHIP LAYOUT: There are parts of the Koningsdam that ...
