Definitely Not Luxury

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seabourn Encore

We choose this cruise because of ports and timing. From the very beginning we experienced a "bait and switch" operation that iwas littered with Nickle/Dime items. Brochures offer a 3 cabin upgrade yet none were available upon booking; a month before the cruise I received an upsell for the same upgrade at $1000 per passenger. The ships tenders as much as possible to save port fees and offers no ...

Not up to Seabourn standards! Service is like on a 4*-ship!

This was my seventh SB-cruise in the last six years! Here are the pros and cons compared to the other SB-cruises: Pros: - Nice brandnew ship - not crowded - nice cabins - Service and food quality in the MDR was very good Cons: - "The Retreat" is useless and too expensive - The taste of the food and variety in the Colonnade is 4* - The service quality in the Colonnade is ...

Disappointed

I have sailed with Seabourn many times and loved it, so I was looking forward to the newest-largest-most luxurious ship in the fleet. Unfortunately, the ship did not meet Seabourn's standard for service. A number of the crew were "old hands" who we knew from previous cruises, and they were outstanding. A larger number seemed not to know their jobs; it was as if they were in training, but ...

My wife and I cruised for 21 days from Civitavecchia, to Amsterdam, then the Fjords in Norway and back to Amsterdam in Cabin #5017, what attracted us was the Itinerary. We were excited by the prospect of cruising on a "state of the art ship", and really enjoyed the ports that we visited, our cabin was spacious and kept clean. For us that is where it ended, were really disappointed with the sound ...

Sirena is not the quality of other Oceania ships. Still good but not as good. The quality of the ship is not the same. A lot of broken things, the lights in Red Ginger would not dim correctly - bright or very dim, ice cream machine in buffet was broken, two washer/dryer machines were not working, etc. Still very good compared to other cruise lines but not up to the Oceania standard. Several ...

Selected for its ports of call and the fact it was selling itself as a luxury cruise line. Well the ports didn't let us down but not over impressed by the ship. What can we say but it's boring! Thankfully we had a port stop every day so could escape! Entertainment at 9.30pm was hit and miss, that's if you made there in time to watch it, as the service in the MDR was so slow. Tables for two went ...
