A Lot to Offer, but Not the Ship for Everyone

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Background: I have traditionally been a luxury or upper mainstream cruiser, and cruise for relaxation and for destination. Since retiring I have branched out and Royal Caribbean has filled primarily a niche role for me as the line of choice when I want to cruise out of my home port of Baltimore. I am more of a small ship person but was curious about the Oasis class ships. The primary obstacle ...

Great ship, but I need more than hardware.

The difference between RCI and others: Great ships - and you need to take what they offer. So out of 80 cruises only 4 were with RCI: Sorry - but their service level is just not ours. Once in a lifetime I wanted to the the largest ship in the world. But honestly spoken I do not need it. The shows are the best (after Disney) which I saw but that is not enough to keep me loyal with ...

An Amazing Mediterranean Adventure on Allure

BACKGROUND We recently completed an amazing Mediterranean journey that included a voyage on Allure Seas. This trip was a long time coming and a long time planning. It was very special in many ways; it was a voyage I had longed to make with my mom. My dad did not fly and she always wanted to go to Italy, but did not want to leave him. Her adoptive family was from Italy and she so wanted to see ...

Embarkation was the fastest and easiest ever! The logistic of this ship is amazing. The shows are very high quality. Don't miss Mamma Mia's show. This Cruise has 5 ports of call. Naples, Italy: close to the Amalfi coast, we visited Sorrento, Pompéi and Positano (on the Amalfi coast) with Fabrizio (Leasure Italy) and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to have a perfect day in this ...

Disappointing

The Allure of the Seas is a beautiful ship, but on our cruise, we found it far to crowded. We had to queque up all the time and it became quite frustrating. When we booked our cruise 10 months beforehand, I booked into 'My Time Dining' what we got was an appointed dining time of 8.45pm every night, which was to late for us. On the 3rd day we got it changed to 6.30pm but we mostly had to eat in the ...

Since the Allure of the Seas will not be cruising the Mediterranean next year, I will focus my review on the ship. If you want to know more about the ports in the Mediterranean, I will try to review these ports later. So a little background, this was my 15th cruise, 5th cruise on Royal Caribbean, 2nd time on Allure, 1st time Mediteranean Cruise. We are from the United States, we are not ...

The following document is a short outline of our experiences on our European Cruise and what we learned. Date: 05 and 06 October (Monday and Tuesday) We flew direct from Detroit to Rome. Flying direct is more convenient than changing planes. However, if you have the option, it is easier if you land in Europe later in the day. We landed in Rome at about 9:00 AM. We got to our hotel in ...

We started out in Rome for 4 days and travelled to the cruise ship via RomeCabs doing a 4 hour tour through the Italian countryside and touring Castle Odeschali in Bracciano, eating lunch at a nice Italian restaurant afterwards. If you get a chance, take that tour with RomeCabs...awesome! Arrived and boarded Royal Caribbean's Allure Of The Seas to celebrate our 37th anniversary. Yes, the ship ...

My wife and I recently decided to take a Mediterranean Cruise. He had heard many wonderful things about Royal Caribbean and decided to give it a try. We were very excited to step onto the “Biggest ship in the ocean”, the Allure of the Seas. It wasn’t our first cruise but it was our first cruise on Royal Caribbean. It, unfortunately, didn’t go well. During our cruise experience we had a ...

We just got back from a western Mediterranean cruise on beautiful Allure of the Seas and it was the best trip we ever took. We flew to Rome five days early so we could do some serious touring before departing on the ship. We stayed at a small Roman hotel called the Diocleziano which was wonderful. Elegant, friendly, and gorgeous bathrooms. I would have liked to stay for several months. On ...
