I have always wanted to cruise on the US rivers, and I also wanted to experience the largest riverboat, as well as steam-powered, so the American Queen was my obvious choice. Eventually, I hope to cover all the US rivers that offer overnight cruises.
We flew in to St. Louis, and were lodged at the Hilton at the Ballpark, where we checked in, and completed a Covid test.
We toured St. Louis ...
This was our second cruise on the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington with ACL. The views and locks are spectacular and the pace is very relaxing. Each town visited has an interesting history and quaint personality.
American Cruise Lines provides a fantastically safe environment for aging guests or for those travelling alone. The small ships ensure that you'll be able to meet and ...

Hello IamAlyce! Thank you for your feedback and kind words. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time sailing on American Queen. We hope to see you back on the river soon!...
The embarkation for this cruise was Milwaukee, WI, but that choice is not available on this form. The reverse trip is Toronto to Milwaukee. We took the cruise that ended in Toronto. The cruise is advertised as a Great Lakes tour.
This cruise is nothing like described in the brochure. Embarkation was chaotic, mostly because the staff didn't know what to do. The staff included everyone from ...
For the first 4 days they were so short staffed that it was buffet only! So sick of eating lukewarm food and mass produced! Then they brought on enough workers to have service, at dinner only! Also all their other boats are fully staffed, heard that from a inside source.
One bartender per bar, when they were open, should have had at least two, long lines. Wine offered? Maybe 8 types, and I can ...

Hello Shortyman! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us feedback. We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy many aspects of the cruise, such as the food, wine, and service. We...
Where to begin. Actually at one star it is overrated and grossly overpriced for what was delivered. The ship is an old rust bucket. The saying you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear is a perfect description. Since the cruise up the Hudson is marketed to seniors, American thinks we are too old to use the internet. With that in mind they only provide WiFi if you can position yourself ...
The Columbia/Snake river on The American Pride was truly amazing. We had an incredible crew that took care of us. The speaker, David Miller not only delivered a great lecture on Lewis and Clark expedition, but enhanced our experience by displaying artifacts and foliage of the region. David gave us information about the many locks we went through. Lots of historical facts. Arts and crafts classes ...
We enjoyed enjoyed exploring the Columbia River Gorge. A riverboat is an excellent way to get to see this part of country.
From other passengers that had been on American Cruise Lines I would hear consistently that they had good experiences on some of the companies other trips.
However, anyone booking on this ship should be aware that this a very old and barely maintained boat. The boat is ...
For our first post-COVID adventure, we decided to see more of the USA, and a riverboat cruise down the mighty Mississippi has always sounded alluring. We sailed downstream, from Memphis to New Orleans, on the beautiful and stately American Queen. We spend three nights pre-cruise in Memphis, one of which was included in the cruise fare. The cruise line hotel was The Peabody, "The South's Grand ...
