Having read varied reviews we went on MSC with low expectations but hopeful, as my husband understands Italian we may find experience better than others who have reviewed it. This was my first cruise, but even the experienced cruisers praised Viking Star as their best cruise. The ship is new, modern and high class. I loved this cruise!! The highlight to me was being up on deck with a gin and tonic when the ship left port!! The Aquavit outdoor dining experience was incredible, with the outdoor cooking and the incredible bartenders... Marvin and Frederico!!! The fresh fish which was cooked by Dennis one night was divine! Thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. We boarded in Instabul and visited Romania, Bulgaria, and the Ukraine.
A bit of the ship was outdated and needed some maintenance, but we thoroughly loved the size of our room and the crew itself.
The meals were very good in the dining room and the dinner in Candles (everyone is entitled to 1 meal) was excellent.
