Miserable

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

Loved the destinations but the ship and amenities were terrible. The only great things onboard were the dancers and singer shows. What’s the good thing about using food clips to pickup your food when most people are coughing in their hands? There has to be a better way of serving. The wines were the cheapest I ever had. The package they sell is worthless. NCL has skimped on all their services even ...

Picked this cruise because we wanted to go to Iceland. First given a dirty room made to wait inside for 3 hours to find a replacement Trips were expensive if the boat decided To stop somewhere First port was tender badly organised took 5 hours to get off the boat Then they started altering the ports ended up only half a day in Reykjavík and cancelling Guernsey. Food wasn’t great ...

We chose this cruise because it visited the western part of Greenland which was new to us. We are Elite and took a veranda room on 10. This was cruise number 110. It was the worst cruise we’ve ever been on. The ship was full to capacity which meant it was very crowded. Design of ship just is not meant for 3500 people. It was difficult to simply find a place to sit and have a drink at anytime. ...

Silver Wind sailing Iceland to Vancouver August 11th--October 2nd, 2023 We had booked a cabin with a balcony on the starboard side of deck 7 and paid $49,700 USD for this 52 day cruise not including any air travel. This was for the cruise only...... We boarded the ship at 3pm and began our sailing from Reykjavik Iceland as scheduled at 7pm. We sailed 3 miles or so, dropped anchor ...

My First Cruise And My Last Cruise

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

I chose this cruise due to the itinerary, including Greenland, The Lofoten Islands of Norway, and The Shetlands. Before the cruise even began, Greenland and the Lofoten ports were dropped with no explanation, and the Shetland stop was canceled after we had literally arrived. There were supposed to be no sea days, but we ended up spending 20% of the cruise on sea days. Absolutely nothing to do on ...

The worst cruise ever

I am writing about my journey on the Norwegian Star that departed Reykjavik for three destinations in Iceland and three ports in Greenland from July 13 to 23, 2023. I traveled on several cruise ships before, but the NCL was the worst of all these experiences. I hardly know where to begin, since there were so many issues. I took this cruise with my extended family and some friends (10 ...

Worse cruise I ever had

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

I chose this cruise due to its itinerary that would sail from Iceland to Greenland. We did not visit one port of call in Iceland and two ports in Greenland to weather conditions. Norwegian Cruise Line should be well aware of the weather conditions in these areas of the world. If the weather conditions do not allow visit of these ports even during the summer Norwegian should not plan these ...

6 ports scheduled 3 cancelled 2 more added plus fjord sail All additional adds were cancelled due to weather. Crew worked hard but the line is lacking in so many ways. Norwegian should have a good handle on operations in thr region. Ports were mostly tenders. And very few shore excursions. They sent out a memo advising that the tour guides did not have a strong command of the ...

We booked this cruise as a large group with my family and unfortunately all of us had the same horrible experience. Our cruise was supposed to go to Iceland and Greenland and we only were able to make two of the Iceland stops and one (the smallest) of the Greenland stops. The remainder of the stops were cancelled due to sea ice (that other ships were going through without issue). Guests on the ...

We have used ncl before and we were very satisfied. this trip was a nightmare. we book our insurance, flights, and cruise with ncl. It started out bad with a flight delay causing us to miss our tour and pick up in reykjavik. it was less than 24 hours when i called the tour operator and was told we would not be able to refund our money. i thought i could submit it to my ncl insurance but ...
