The obvious reason was ship included Antarctic on this trip, as well as most of S America. Great trip though, excellent staff in restaurants. Food, which used to be excellent was average at best. Repetitive menu in Main Dining Room after 12 days. Great experience all way around. Stateroom was on the 7th level. My room keeper was excellent. Room was prepared immediately after I left. He noticed any repairs that required fixing and had a service person take care of it at once without delay. Very friendly and helpful.

The Sapphire Princess is in very good shape for an “older” ship. Sure, there were some stains on carpets and chips on tile, but on a whole I was very impressed. We enjoyed the fact that this Princess ship still maintains a full wide wrap-around Promenade deck (with only the need to go up and down a flight at the bow.)

We joined friends and my daughter for this "once in a lifetime" Antarctic cruise. The big takeaway was the outstanding customer service throughout the ship in every venue: room steward, dining room hosts and stewards, Guest Services, photo shop, and internet booth. The staff on board, including pro photographers, naturalists, scientists were all extremely knowledgeable and gave awesome presentations daily. Last year we cruised from buenos aires to South Shettland Islands with NCL on 2023 February 12th. It was a panoramic cruise but too intersting.
We watched a lot of whales in Elephant Island, great landscapes of glaciers and Cientifics bases in Admiralty Bay, penguins in puerto madrin, ushuaia and punta arenas,and a lof of birds during the trip.

Chose this cruise for the itinerary of Argentina, Antartica and Chile, but the pretour to iguazzu falls (amazing!!! this is a fantastic pretour. Belmont hotel and our Argentinean guide Sol were a huge surprise - fabulous!) turned out to be a highlight; so consider it!
