Yes, we are on the tour with Ato on October 12. We got reservations quite a while ago and he sent us the online advertising poster to try to get more people but I didn’t know how to go about it. Sounds like I didn’t need to worry about it! And yes, I guess we are only one night at the Intercontinental but all day for the 9th and a half day on the 10th. (My bad)

Of course, we don’t know how we’re going to feel when we arrive at 5 AM on the ninth, but we are hoping to feel good enough to do an adventure.  One thing we talked about doing is taking the ferry over to Moorea. It is supposed to be a beautiful ride, about 30-45 min (it is the #1 thing to do in Papeete)  and the ferry costs about $30 apiece. (Round trip I think) You can go to their website and see the schedule. Then, the shuttle for the Hilton Moorea resort and spa will pick us up at the ferry dock and take us to the Hilton. We will get a day pass there( approx $83. Each).  That includes access to their pool and beach as well as their snorkeling and kayaking equipment. It is supposed to be the most beautiful place on earth! The snorkeling there is phenomenal! It also includes lunch at their beach bar restaurant – main course, dessert and drink. Then we can make it back to the Intercontinental for their barbecue dance party that night!  The last ferry leaves at 4:50 so we can’t stay out real late. Anyway that is a thought for us and maybe we are crazy, but go to the websites and look at these places – they are fabulous. There are not a lot of good tours in Papeete But there are a few we are considering instead of the Hilton one.

Also, I am looking at a tour on Sunday, October 13 at Tripura, Rangiroa. It is a drift snorkel and is supposed to be fabulous. They also take you to the lagoon for calmer snorkeling. The name of the tour company is Six Passengers and they won’t take us until they have more sign up. Also, you can’t do the drift snorkel if the water is rough, so that’s a plus. I have been doing a lot of research on all of these excursions so if you have any questions I might be able to answer some for you.

    Getting excited! Angie.

I will send you some emails if you want more info. My email is

    Hi Angie

Yes glad to see others on this roll call.  Are you on the same Ato lissant tour as the 8 of us?  We are probably on the same FLT from LAX arriving on the 9th at 5am but our cruise departs on the 10th. Only 1 night at Intercontinental.  First WS cruise?

Hi! We are Angie and Jim Milligan from Ohio/Florida and are getting excited for the cruise. We arrive at Papeete on the 9th at 4:45am so have 2 nights at the Intercontinental before we embark on the Windstar. Still working on what we are going to do in Papeete for the 20 some hours we will be there, but have several good options. Already have most of our excursions booked, including The Blue Lagoon with Ato. Did that earlier this summer. So glad to find out that there will be some other couples to enjoy the day with! Looking forward to a great trip!
