This is my first Caribbean cruise and first on Holland America.

Last year I went on an Avalon Danube River Cruise that turned into a very expensive bus trip due to lack of water in the Danube.

My family has not booked any excursions this time. We are taking a “wait and see” and don’t want restrictions this trip.

We are taking costumes to wear on the 31st.  I will be a good sport and put on the one designed and made by my daughter in-law. I declined being an elephant because I thought the “trunk” might get in the way at supper.  😂  My friends are eager to see the pictures!

I play Euchre ( and other games ) and so do family members.

However, Trivia competitions will be their first choice. They are good at it and I am not.

One of my cruises had over 125 at a meet and greet and we wore special shirts on the first day.  We also had private events scheduled for our group and a ship wide treasure hunt. That was fun and memorable and so will this cruise!

This is the quietest roll call!  Is there going to be a meet-n-greet?  Any groups doing excursions? Any euchre players?

I always try to but I’ve never made it to a meet-n-greet yet 😔😔😔 so I usually meet people throughout the week. We aren’t into excursions, I’m fearful of too large crowds on too small boats, ha ha. Sounds like a pretty great card game. Is there a spot on the ship you usually pick to play it?

Has anyone been to Grand Turk before? The Stingray excursion on Gibb's Cay sounds good but I am a little reluctant to book it in advance given we are still in hurricane season and they may change the itinerary. Does anyone know if they tours right at the pier in Grand Turk like they do in so many other destinations? Would rather sign up for an excursion when we get ther on the off chance there is a change. Looks pretty clear now but it still 3 weeks away and anything can develop. Thanks.

Have been many times but we are not excursion peeps. I snorkel right off the ship/beach when I go here and last time saw an octopus 😮😮 it was AMAZING! Other than that, we just hang in the Margaritaville pool. I’ve not seen anyone at the pier offering last minute stuff like you see in Mexico, if that’s what’s meant. But I’m not really looking so I could be missing something because in Mexico ports you just can’t miss it, ha:)

Is anyone interested in playing Mah Jongg on this cruise? My sister-in-law Doris is a big player and would like to meet up with other players. Please post your interest level here and I'll pass it along to her. Thanks.

Any man Jong players out there. My wife has been playing for years and would love to have a game.

Looks like you both have a similar interest and each has someone to play! How lucky!

I enjoy playing Mahjong on my iPad but have never competitively. I hope I get to watch:)

No special offer was made. I just saw that the suit was the same price as the balcony and it was a great price, so I had my travel professional book it. My room is still listed at a guaranteed, so hoping they move me up even more. Either way this will be a great trip. I love the smaller ships..

👏👏👏 Did you get another upgrade yet? I just took one from an offer they emailed and super excited to surprise the kids with the Vista Suites verses the inside cabins we first booked. I do love the small ships, too, and the only bummer for me, however, is these not having thermal spa pool which I absolutely love every evening and some mornings while cruising.
