We have not canceled our trip yet as waiting to see what happens with the cruise line itself. I think they will eventually cancel, My KLM flight os difficult to deal with. I am not interested in future vouchers I prefer  to get my money back. Its been quiet on here so not sure how many have hung in there. Cruise lines have to make a plan soon as to how long they wish to cancel.

On our receipt from HAL, the  refund conditions were:

CANCELLATION FEES SCHEDULE Cancellation Fees Begin Cancellation Fees (Per Person) Feb 23, 2020 $390.00 (Amount Forfeited) Mar 21, 2020 50% Gross Fare Apr 11, 2020 75% Gross Fare May 2, 2020 100% Gross Fare

Fortunately we cancelled on March 12th.  We have received a refund from KLM less $500 each, which we will claim on our travel insurance once we get the go ahead from our travel agent.  When we book our next cruise (which will be closer to home!) we will book closer to the date of departure, not a year in advance!!

I have now contacted HAL and cancelled the Meet and Greet.

Best wishes to everyone for the future, you never know we may meet up on a future HAL cruise when all this settles down.

As of today, we have not received any refunds, but hopefully we will hear from HAL next week.  In the meantime, stay safe and if you are still going on the cruise, have a wonderful trip.

When i cancelled the cruise,  the HAL rep said it would take about 4 to 6 weeks to see the refund on our visa.

To date nobody has come forward to indicate they are interested in taking over responsibility for the Meet and Greet.  A number of people on the list have indicated they have now cancelled the cruise.

Am I right in assuming that I should just cancel the Meet and Greet?  If so, I'll contact HAL and explain that I cannot be the contact.  Then if anyone else wants to take over they can contact HAL to set it up. I'm still happy to send the information I have to anyone who wants to take over.

Cheers and if you are still going on the cruise, enjoy yourselves.

This cruise was part of a more extensive trip for us and we are still trying to recover money from some suppliers.

I am no longer on the cruise but my 2 cents is if no one has stepped forward to take over the m&g then  let it go.  I'm  sure HAL can set up a m&g quickly eneough.

With so many countries now denying cruise ship entry, my guess is that the cruise ship industry is going to shut down for a while.
