@Fran&Steve and @Mike&Patty  thank you for keeping us all in the picture.  We were there with you in spirit, though I'll admit, during those long flights, I think I was more comfortable here at home 😉   We think along similar lines - go with the flow, make the best of it and look forward to the next travel adventure!

Glad you are home safe and sound.

I so admire your attitudes, Fran & Steve, Mike & Patty.  36-44 hours in transit is indeed daunting.  I hope that you were able to sleep through much of it.  You are intrepid travelers!  I hope our paths cross in the future.  You have a GREAT story to tell.

Good to hear you’re home safe. We left the ship Friday on the first bus to the airport (2pm) and hung out in BKK airport until our 12:30am flight home — Bangkok>Tokyo>Houston>Fort Lauderdale. Turned the key in the door about 36 hours later (18 in air; 18 hanging out). Does Regent have an affinity level for this?”  The time was redeemed by a memorable 4-day stopover in Dubai/Abu Dhabi on the way plus some neat friendships with folks who didn’t let the uncertainties get in the way of good times.

We are now back home. It was 44 hours from the time we woke up on disembarkation day until we walked through the front door. We left the ship at 10:45 AM and were taken to the Centara Hotel in downtown Bangkok and given rooms for the day. The hotel is usually filled with Chinese tourists, but sits empty for now. We departed the hotel about 6:30 PM for the airport, arrived at 7:30 and the flight departed at 9:30. We had plenty of time to check-in and get through security. About 20 of us were on the same flights Bangkok to Inchon and Inchon to Detroit, then we went separate ways. The flights were okay, just seemed to take forever. I think Regent did everything correctly. I feel bad for the crew members that are now unexpectedly unemployed. Voyager is now heading south in the Gulf of Thailand, not sure of it's near-term destination. We did have fun and enjoyed the 10 days we were on the ship, but that's just too many hours on airplanes over such a short time. With hindsight 20/20, we should have stayed home. Now we are looking forward to Barcelona to Montreal in Sept 2020!
