Hi Sandy and Steve:
Great to hear from you. Where do you live on Rittenhouse Square? It's a small world because I'm originally from Philly suburbs and lived in Center City many years ago.
We are actually going on United from Newark, nonstop, to BA on 12/3 and will arrive on Wednesday morning, 12/4. We fly back to Newark from Rio, connecting in Sao Paolo, which will save us three hours of waiting in Houston for the connection.
I have booked a wonderful three day tour hotel package with a wonderful young man who works for a group highly recommended by another guest who has used them before. They were very responsive and the hotel and three days of tour highlights were very reasonable. BA is not like NY or Paris for sure.
Do you have your tours set up? If you want more information, let me know. We can meet up while we are there.
As for the Mariner, we were on it two years ago for New England tour. It was renovated right after that and I hear it looks great. My sister's friends from Newtown Square were on it for 3 weeks to Asia six months ago.
The other ships have really large bathrooms, but the Mariner's is a standard size for a cruise ship. However, the bedroom suites are large with balconies and the closet space is great. It has a different layout than the others, which is fine. The elegance of the decor is the same as the other ships.
As I said in my early post, we are big Regent fans and have enjoyed every cruise we've been on. No complaints from us.
