I'm glad that you enjoyed your cruise, and especially your day at Ponce, my hometown. Every cruise visit has been similar concerning what you saw, organized to help visitors enjoy their day, maximize the time of their stay, and to have a feeling that Ponce and the southern region of Puerto Rico has much to offer to visitors.

    Howdy Guatiao,

We also enjoyed our day in Ponce.  We did some touring around town and shopping.  We headed back to the port and dropped off our purchases.  Since it was such a nice day, we headed back out to the free rum punch booth and enjoyed the drinks while we sat on the sofa visiting with all the returning guests.  I probably had about 4 or 5 glasses of rum punch during the couple of hours we sat outside, but it was a gorgeous day and everyone was super friendly.

We will be back to Ponce next February and plan to have another GREAT day!

    Hi All

I thought the cruise was excellent all the ports were enjoyable ,even Ponce where they had a mini

festival right at the dock with free drinks . It seamed that they had organized the visit of the ship

to there town and were very friendly , helpful and accommodating . I had some form of beef almost every meal in the dinning room and it was always cooked to my liking and tender .

I would recommend this ship to anyone .

The Schooner bar was a better place to have drinks than even the diamond club.  Ivana and George were great bartenders.  We switched to that location after finding the service in the diamond club to be poor and also that the food was the worst of any diamond location.  Even this ship a few cruises ago.  At the schooner bar we found many back to back cruisers, as well a diamond or diamond plus members.  The conversation was lively.

We do agree with you about the food on the ship.  A bit of a downer as compared to this ship in the past.  But we were surprised, pleasantly, that the running of the omelet station was well done, and also that lox was available every morning.

It was also a good sign that everyone seemed to wash their hands upon entering the eat facilities.

The soft serve ice cream was always cold, not runny, and I followed advice to serve it in a bowl rather than the cones.  Rather be safe than sorry.  But it should also be noted that only one machine was running at any given time.  But the line was never very long on this voyage.

The marriage game was still the best entertainment on the ship.  Never to be missed.

I was also surprised at the number of scooters and walkers.  But everyone seemed to be very polite and careful.  This was also one of friendliest ships We have ever been on.  Wherever you stopped conversations could be started.  Pleasant ones.  Made the cruise that much more enjoyable.

It was great meeting up with some of you guys on the first leg of our B2B2B.

Enjoyed the company of the folks in the Diamond and Concierge lounge.  JJ and Mario were just super.

I thought Ponce was interesting for what it was...liked the Plaza of Delights and the Parque de Bombas.  We walked around quite a bit, saw some interesting street art, enjoyed the music, hopped the free trolley to the cemetery and had delicious coconut ice cream and Kings.  Don't know if I would go back to town the next time as it was limited.  Would do some other tour.

Thought the food on the ship was pathetic. I like the old menus much better. Food was mostly cold.  Frozen apple "pie".  Can Royal be cutting back so much that the most served fish is SWAI?!?!  I won't touch that crap.

Chops was very, very disappointing.  Food was mediocre and the service was terrible.  Didn't get all the appetizers we ordered and then they held our steaks to serve the appetizers and by the time we got our steaks they were cold and tough.  Our complaints were dismissed by the staff.  Will not go back to Chops - ever.

The headliner shows were not that exciting either.  Bad jugglers, pathetic comics.  The production shows are always good and the bands and musicians around the ship are always great.

Service by the staff is always great (except for Chops).  Smiles everywhere.  Cruise Director was okay - her staff was much more enthusiastic.

But a bad day on a cruise is not to be found.  Better than a day at the office!  Don't have to cook or clean!
