Our transatlantic on Celebrity Reflection 24 Apr 2020 has been canceled, offered choice of full refund or 125% future cruise credit.  Had we canceled earlier would have only been 100% future cruise credit.  Will watch to see what happens with this one.  The Coronavirus pandemic so sad, and scary.

Yes it is a slow start! Our TA looked into switching us to Victoria boarding but the change would have cost more than it's worth to us. We'll stay with boarding in Vancouver, though we'll probably leave the ship in Victoria. Victoria boarding has evidently been popular, with Cunard seeing no reason to offer discounts.

    Hi Everyone,

Wow,  This is the slowest start for a roll call.  We are booked on this cruise along with many of our friends who never joined cruise critics.  We have been to Alaska over twenty times and we always enjoy going back.  Prince Rupert will be a new port for us and looking forward to it.  I will be having surgery to have my left knee replaced in the last week of May so won't be too active on this cruise.  Still looking forward to do some dancing at the Queen's ball room.

    Linda

I usually do a scan of port schedules to see how much competition there will be when we're in port. The information I get is never certain but is a good guide. Here's what I've found:

    Aug 10 - Victoria - Carnival Spirit.

Aug 11 - Vancouver - alone! Surprising. We boarded there last September with 4 ships in port and it was a zoo. We had priority boarding but It took 3 hours to pre-clear US Immigration.

    Aug 13 - Juneau - Celebrity Eclipse.

Aug 14 - Skagway - Carnival Spirit, Carnival Miracle, Norwegian Jewel. The tours and town will be busy.

Aug 16 - Sitka - alone. the Sitka stop is one reason we're taking this cruise.

    Aug 17 - Prince Rupert - alone.

    Aug 19 - Victoria - Star Princess.

I'm planning to talk with our TA to see if we can switch to VIctoria boarding, but I've noticed that the Aug. 10 Victoria boarding is no longer available on Cunard's website.

We've booked but out of Vancouver, from where the itinerary runs Aug 11-20. Cunard is offering the choice of round trips from either Victoria or Vancouver on the same ship in August, though the voyage numbers are different. I imagine most passengers will be on the Vancouver-based itinerary. We may choose to get off in Victoria a day early, something we've been able to do before. The ship spends a full day in Victoria on the 10th and 19th, an uncommon bonus for Vancouver-boarding passengers.

We've been to these ports recently except for Prince Rupert. I've not been there since the 90s and DW never, so we're looking forward to that.
