Just booked this cruise; couldn't resist the deal. I'm also booked on the 7-day trip starting on October 5, so it's a back-to-back for a total of 12 days.
A couple of notes for people who haven't sailed for a while:
- The Port Canaveral terminal can be a mess at check-in; it's badly run (not NCL's doing). Hope for the best, but plan for a totally uncoordinated funneling of lots of people onto one escalator. Yes, that escalator is outdoors, so hope it's not raining.
- Disembarkation also is traditionally challenging, but should be streamlined a lot by the new facial recognition system for customs and immigration. If you don't know what that is, wait till the last day and you'll be impressed. You look at an iPad for a couple seconds and then it clears you to go straight through the terminal - no passport check or agent to see.
- Before boarding, be sure to load the new Cruise Norwegian app (it's free) from the app store for your device(s). It's sometimes hard to get the downloads onboard. If you don't know how to get it configured, go to the Internet Cafe on the ship for help; I just may see you there, since I often volunteer to help the first couple of days.
I sail with NCL a lot, and have been on the Sun multiple times. If you have a question about NCL or the ship, post it and I may be able to provide some guidance. Since I commute, I cannot help with local accommodations - sorry.
As far as ports are concerned, Key West should be no problem. There's courtesy transportation to the center of town where just about everything is located. Nassau is open for business; I was there last week and didn't see any storm damage. Great Stirrup Cay (GSC to the insiders) is a tender port, so it's hit-or-miss whether we stop there depending on the waves and other weather conditions. The ship will take no chance that passengers will be stranded there if there's a forecast for trouble in the afternoon.
Looks like we won't have anywhere near enough interest to set up a CC Meet & Greet, as I'm only the fourth person to follow this thread. That's too bad, but not unusual for short cruises.

I believe you’ll find a party of some kind just about every night: white-hot party, glow party, etc. Check the Freestyle Daily left on your bed each evening for information on the next day’s events.
